Wildlife officials in Maryland have put a bounty on the snakehead, the so-called "fish from hell" that can migrate on land and devastates the eco-systems of lakes, ponds and streams.

The state will give out $200 gift cards for Bass Pro Shops as well as other prizes for catching and killing the fish, which is native to Africa and Asia but is believed to have made its way to America through Asian seafood merchants.

Actualy he had two tilapia about 8 inches long in his gut. I never ever dress out the belly flap and I always filet out all that red strip down the sides. Cut him up in sizes for frying and soak in salt water for about an hour before bagging in water and freezing. I found that a sandwich baggy holds about a pound and a half of meat, just the right size for a meal and it defrost in the fridge overnight. Also after letting it soak in salt water for an hour I use the sprayer in the sink to rinse untill all the foaming stops.Best frying catfish in the world.

I spent too much time in East Asia/with East Asians (including my SIL's family). I might even eat the tilapia, depending on how digested they were, or maybe make garum out of them.

But for sure, the head and the bones go into the stock pot, after the meat comes off. Fish that size has a lot of meat on the head.

And yes, I do love the traditional fried catfish nuggets with catsup that I grew up with. But I eat almost everything on one now. ;)

friends tell me they are delicious, and damn easy to catch a dozen or more in places they are plentiful with an hour’s work. And there’s no catch limit “cause Maryland want these puppies all gone.

“But how does it fry up?”

Probably has a lot of tiny bones to to deal with!
