I think the actor is gay, he hasn’t said so but they say he is.

Great character though.

I started watching that show when it moved into syndication, I like it a lot. I usually don’t watch sitcoms. The one with Dougie Howser I watched 1 and a half episodes of, AWFUL. Maybe they were bad episodes but I can’t see why that show is popular.

Ah, Doogie Howser. I don’t believe I’ve seen it but once since after it aired in prime time. I liked it at the time, seemed rather novel, and Neil Patrick Harris was good in the role. I don’t know how I’d feel about it today. I snickered that the arrogant 1st Excelsior Captain Styles was Doogie’s dad (although he was more known for “Hill Street Blues”, a show I rarely got to see since it was on past my childhood bedtime) and his mom was Sonny Crockett’s ex-wife from “Miami Vice.” Sometimes the shows aren’t as good as you remember them (but having recently watched ‘Vice’ reruns, it’s even better than I remembered — plus as a kid, I couldn’t appreciate it as much).
