Meat is protean, protean is poly amino acid. Amino acids are metabolized into ammonia, your body turns excess ammonia into urea to keep the concentration down, you piss out the urea.

“Pink slime” is not mechanically separated beef. The USDA banned mechanically separated beef from all food products years ago when spongiform encephalitis became a problem. Pink slime is meat and fat trimmings.
Pink slime is high in protean, low in fat. It has a lot of collagen, which turns to gelatin, which is what makes good bbq good. Pink slime is good. Pink slime tastes good. Pink slime is good for you.
If you are against pink slime, then admit you’re easily manipulated by the press.
Now I’m going to griddle some scrapple which, if it is good scrapple, contains a lot of pig face meat. I like it crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Scrapple is basically polenta made with rich, meaty pork gravy. Mmmmmmm.

When you buy “Ammonia” from the store for disinfecting, it is Ammonium Hydroxide, very diluted. The Ammonia escapes in the form of an Ammonia gas, like Clorine gas does from bleach, very diluted Sodium Hypochlorite.
The bad word is not Ammonium Hydroxide. What’re they doing with it and is THAT bad or not.

I'm sick to death of the "pink slime" non-scandal. When it's gone, the same people whining about "pink slime" will be wailing that there's no cheaper ground beef available.
