Just how big is the United States?

Posted on 04/09/2012 3:04:29 PM PDT by SamAdams76

Well take just Texas for example. Superimpose Texas over Europe and even Adolph Hitler would have an inferiority complex...

Now Texas is pretty big. But let's take Alaska all by itself and superimpose it on the lower 48. Line up the North Slope of Alaska with Minnesota and you end up with Juneau down in the Carolinas and the Aleutians run clear to the coast of Southern California!

Well I just thought this was pretty darn impressive.

Alaska. The northernmost, westernmost, and easternmost state.

If Mississippi wore a New Jersey then what would Delaware?

Highlight below for answer:

Idaho, Alaska.

Michigan is a big state if you plan on driving from southeast (Detroit) to northwest (Ironwood). Its right around 600 miles.

California is just slightly smaller in land area than Sweden, but has about four times the population.

If you want BIG plot Russia.

Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut would fit into San Bernardino County, Calif.

Sarah Palin approves.

Since it straddles the International Date Line, Alaska is both the westernmost and the easternmost state.

And those 26 million live in most of the big city regions..The bigger the population the more problems, less freedom, more government control etc.

So, okay, this is Australia, but Australia is just about the same size as the US.

Photobucket

France is about the size of Texas, Germany about the size of Montana. England can fit into Washington, Oregon and a bit of Idaho.

Yes, we have plenty of “Lebensraum” here in the USA, and just in case we ever need more, we’ve always got Canada!
