Michael (Flathead) Blanchard
Blanchard, Michael (Flathead) 1944 ~ 2012
A Celebration of the life of Michael "Flathead" Blanchard will be held on April 14th, 3 pm 8160 Rosemary St, Commerce City. Weary of reading obituaries noting someone's courageous battle with death, Mike wanted it known that he died as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors' orders and raising hell for more than six decades. He enjoyed booze, guns, cars and younger women until the day he died.
Mike was born July 1944 in Colorado to Clyde and Ethel Blanchard. A community activist, he is noted for saving the Dr. Justina Ford house from demolition and defending those who could not defend themselves. He was a Republican delegate, life member of the NRA, founder and President of the Dead Cats MC. He loved music. Mike was preceded in death by Clyde and Ethel Blanchard, survived by his beloved sons Mike and Chopper, former wife Jane Transue, brother Stephen Blanchard (Susan), Uncle Don and Aunt Cynthia Blanchard(his favorite); Uncle Dill and Aunt Dot, cousins and nephews, Baba Yaga can kiss his butt. So many of his childhood friends that weren't killed in Vietnam went on to become criminals, prostitutes and/or Democrats. He asks that you stop by and re-tell the stories he can no longer tell. As the Celebration will contain Adult material we respectfully ask that no children under 18 attend.
Any doubts he requested being buried face-down?
“Baba Yaga” is an evil witch character from Russian folklore. I wonder what the connection was.
Loved it, LOL! That’s a guy who has no regrets!
The Museum began as the personal hobby of Paul Stewart , who, as a child playing cowboys and Indians, always had to be the Indian because, "There was no such thing as a Black cowboy." After Mr. Stewart reached adulthood, he met a Black cowboy - a man who had led cattle drives at he turn of the century - and at that time, vowed to unearth all the material he could on other African American western pioneers."

That is awesome. I’m starting work on my own version tomorrow. God bless Flathead and his partying friends.
What an uplift and a laugh. Thank you for sharing.
Well, if you have anything to say within your obit that’s along the lines of Flathead’s life it will be worth reading, hopefully not any time soon.
Isn’t it a little anal to point out prior threads, especially when some posters here obviously missed those posts? Not that there is anything wrong with being anal.
>>>Isnt it a little anal to point out prior threads
No, it’s not.
What’s anal is an inability to use FR’s search function and see if maybe a topic you want to post about has an existing thread you could comment on rather than starting a brand new thread.
No, you are anal. When something is repeated, just move along down the road. Or, try to come up with a post that’s valuable to the group.
Speaking of “just move along”... Physician, heal thyself.
It’s my thread.
>>>Its my thread.
Big whoop. Starting a thread gives you ZERO privileges beyond your own tiny mind.
And if you want to run the show, get your own place and quit trying to run this one.
And another thing...
All I did above was post links to existing discussions on the same topic - there are people here that appreciate the cross-reference. Apparently, you’re not one of those. Get over it, your thread and all.
Briefly.
But if I decide it is MY thread, trust me, it will be.
>>>But if I decide it is MY thread, trust me, it will be.
Take it. Please. :D
I need the n00b to piss me off first. He hasn’t really done so.
Yes, but...
Yes, please go to your party and have a good anal cry.

Go ahead, post your preliminary obit.
Shouldn't I be posting the obit of a mouthy n00b?
actually I found it sad.
Did he ever find time to wipe away his child’s tears, or did he tell the women to abort them all?
Did he ever bother to help his elderly neighbor by mowing their lawn, or help the single mom down the street by changing the oil in her car/
Did he ever hold the hand of someone dying?
Did he ever build a house, plant a tree, or find serenity fishing in a stream?
Did he ever go to church and whisper to God: Thank you?
Well played, LadyDoc.
Well played indeed.
Why so uppity?
Maybe when you were a kid, all your teachers told you you were unique and special (thusly your screen name).
I've got news for you, Sparky. You are neither unique or special.
How do you know he didn’t do any or all those things?
I would not call this the greatest obit ever published. You should read some of the obits in the London Papers sometime, some of them are very entertaining and much better written.
Having said that I did think that obit was to the point and much less hypocitical than many I have read.
It was funny and I certainly would have liked to have met this guy.
All that is probably true, but why are you so uppity?
Yes, it is. To recap: "Look, you are a lame-o. You post a thread that has already posted about a dozen times, then squeal when someone calls you on it, claiming some special privilege because this is 'YOUR THREAD'. Maybe when you were a kid, all your teachers told you you were unique and special (thusly your screen name). I've got news for you, Sparky. You are neither unique or special. "
Remember this every time you post. In fact, you should make this your tagline.
but why are you so uppity?
Because.
OK, all true and I understand that fact, but why are you so uppity?
I don’t know if he did any of those things, and bless him if he did.
But I find it strange that those who loved him didn’t remember him for his loving care of others, but for his life chasing young women and drinking...
You need to reread the obit there were clues to what kind of guy he was. He was a pretty good person in other areas of his life.
