The analogy is a poor one. Most people who invite others to their home do not then ask their guest to pay their mortgage.
Good point.
I’ve checked FR just about every day since I joined how long ago and I don’t post every day. I have noticed a decrease in quality over the past few years.
Well, they sure might if said guests are eating the groceries and running up the electric and water bills.
If you want Obama then continue your foolish ranting.
You did not get what you wanted, though all the selections were poor,so stop whining. We need to unelect Obama. If you have not figured that out by now, you are clueless.
And by the way, the key word in your comment is "ask."
No one is forcing anyone to donate a penny to "pay the mortgage." Even if they're eating the groceries and running up the water and electric bills.
In twelve years here I have yet to see Jim point a gun at a single poster's head.
Actually, if the guest comes over every day, sleeps over, eats dinner etc., he might well be asked to chip in a couple of bucks.
Good news! Solved your problem with my home. You’re no longer invited!!
bye
Especially after peeing on the floor.
I think it’s a good analogy, but here’s a better one.
A buddy invites you over to his house to watch the game. Sit on his couch, watch his TV, enjoy his air conditioning, drink his beer and eat his pretzels...while his favorite team is playing.
Most of us would be savvy enough to cheer for his team, or at least not to insult them, right? And after you are invited over time and again, wouldn’t you at least bring a 12-pack or a bag of chips?
You're going to pay to enjoy the goods and services of any fine eatery, but get out of hand and the owner has every right to throw you out of his establishment.
No different here.
