Axelrod: No plans for Obama to donate extra to defray deficit despite low tax rate.

A top campaign adviser to President Obama made clear Sunday that the president has no plans to chip in extra money from his own income to defray the deficit -- and would insist that the tax system itself be changed so that the wealthy pay more. Campaign strategist David Axelrod was asked on "Fox News Sunday" whether the president might contribute more to the U.S. Treasury after the release of his tax returns showed Obama paid a lower effective tax rate than his secretary. The president and first lady Michelle Obama paid an effective rate of 20.5 percent on gross income of $789,674, a lower rate than the president's secretary -- who earned less than $100,000. The 20.5 percent rate is also less than the 30 percent Obama wants top earners to pay under the so-called "Buffett rule."

Leftists always want others to pay for their follies.

So much for setting an example.

Damn hypocrite.

I have a step daughter who saw some kids out waiting for the school bus one day. She tole her mother she was going to get some bottled water out of the refrigerator and give to the kids. My wife pointed out to her that the water wasn’t hers to give. She didn’t understand it. It was explained to her that that’s the way liberals work. They want you to let them decide who you give your stuff to.

I saw that interview with Axelrod. What claptrap.

He said the reason Obama pays a lower effective rate than his secretary is because Obama gave a lot to charity.

Okay, that’s fine. Nice to hear Obama makes charitable contributions. The point is, Obama complies with the existing tax laws. Romney also complies with existing tax laws. Romney also gives a lot to charity. Though liberals probably don’t like that he gives so much to his church. I don’t remember what charities Obama gives to.

This whole thing could become a giant p***ing contest, in which Democrats point out how much they give to charity and such, and that’s why their tax rates are lower than some middle class people.
