In a previous life, I spent two weeks in a county hospital's burn ward escaping from a fire. There was one dude there who had fused his fingers together from smoking in bed. Couldn't even hold a cig anymore. He would periodically scream for a nurse to come and hold a lighted cig to his mouth to address his nicotine fit. That's a serious addiction! I've seen stoners give up weed with far less trouble.
