I debated on whether to post this. It is so ridiculous and so irrelevant, from such a ridiculous and irrelevant old fool, E. L. Doctorow, who has been ridiculous and irrelevant for decades and has hated America practically since the day he was born. But since this was posted on Facebook by some turd who happens to be an acquaintance of mine, and who is always posting communist propaganda, I thought I'd hold it up to the light of ridicule here on FR.

By the way, has anyone ever noticed that there is no "politics" in the list of topics when you hit the "Choose..." button? I find that odd. So I chose "misc".

Anyway, don't read this if you just ate.

I haven’t paid any attention to Doctorow since I was conned into reading his mediocre potboiler “Ragtime” many years ago. All the critics raved about the book. I should have realized they were just raving.

The whole article is laughable. If this clown is supposed to be some sort of "intellectual" among the elite left, I fear he falls well short of any definition of the word I have seen.

If this wasn't in the NYT, I'd have assumed it was from The Onion. It takes a liberal to attempt to write a serious political screed and end up self-parodying.
