What? You can’t tell?
Flame on! There’s a gay guy somewhere in here wanting to come out.
Just another “Law of Class” for minority contracts.
MBE/WBE/GLBT
You get a 5-7% advantage if you use any of them in your bid.
Cost me a $2 million contract because I didn’t understand that and neither did my guys who had more experience in these types of bids. When I asked them if it was something we needed to do win they said “No, Not Really?”
So we lost the contract to install the Structured Cabling System for our hometown airport, the shiny new airplane looking thing here in San Jose.
Went to a freaking contractor in San Francisco!
That one still stings because I wanted to do that project no matter what it took.
As long as they don’t ‘means test’ this, I predict all companies will be gay.
I can just see it:
Vendor: “You know, I always wondered who’s **** you had to suck in order to get this contract. Now they’ve made it official. Tad, here, is our contracting officer, so if you’ll unbuckle your pants, we’ll make this official.”
State Planning Officer: “Excellent. Turn around and grab the desk.”
Vendor: “HEY, nobody said anything about anal. The state’s picking up the cost of protection.”
State Planning Officer: “Sorry pal, that’s a sales cost. You’re on the hook for it.”
