Our 3 yr. old parti-poodle died on Sunday of an auto-immune disease that destroyed his red blood cells and platelets. Was really quick and we were devastated. I feel like my heart has been ripped out. Am now looking for a new puppy and hopefully I will find my heart again.

Well I’m glad Pumpkin is better....My Ozzy was diabetic and I gave him insuline for 8 years...he was 17 years and Gregio couldn’t walk so I had to let him go as well....The vet thinks he had a clot...I have both their remains....I did go visit Stellaaaaaa today and she is a beautiful 2 year old Calico....I will pick her up on Tuesday.....She is well cared for at “Tabby’s Place” in Ringoes NJ....It’s like a cat resort.....

Five years ago I lost a cat who was my best friend. He was fourteen years old and done in by that blasted poison Chinese cat food. I still haven’t completely gotten over it and I doubt I ever will.

I have another cat named Leopold. He’s a Manx and doesn’t have a tail. He hops like a rabbit! He’s becoming more affectionate and he’ll sleep next to me. He’s like a rock and doesn’t want to move. But he’s so cuddly. :)

Very sad, I hope he's with his kitty now. I've lost so many cats, it is very hard to take but I just think, life has to go on and I'm sure if my cats came back to me, they would tell me to remember them and think about them but get on with life. I think the best way to remember and love the kitties (or any pets) you have lost is to adopt new ones to love.

I did have a very vivid dream/ghost story where one of my cats who passed on came back to me. His name was Buddha (Boo), a black cat, half-Siamese. He came back to me and started to talk like a person, even his mouth moved, like Salem the Cat's did in the TV show "Sabrina." He basically told me, one one of us could come down so all of my past pets elected him "spokescat." He said, that all my pets miss us but still love us and see us. He also said, they are all fine and doing well, having a good time, even meeting new friends. He said, don't feel sad, just love the kitties you have now and get new ones as you can, that is the way to keep loving us. He also said to me "we will all be together again one day." He then said, "I have to go now." The dream happened after we lost G.W. last year so I asked Boo, "got time for a question," and he said, "yes," so I asked him about G.W. and he told me that he is getting along fine with his brother Greystone, then we said our goodbyes. When I get really sad, I try to think about this, it does help.

Yeah, 24. The vet told us that he was the oldest animal of any species that he’d ever had to put down. What was amazing was that he never went through all the long drawn out end of life problems that many animals experience. He was healthy, active and happy right up to the last few days of his life.

Did you ever notice that cats look like they have their head on a spring? I’ll be playing with my two cats and pretend I’m throwing something or tossing something in the air and they have the bobblehead thing going on. It’s so funny.

Thanks for sharing that awesome dream. I think that sometimes dreams are just dreams but sometimes they’re more. The night my grandpa died, he appeared to me in a dream and took his leave. It was very cool — changed my spiritual life completely, actually. No actual words were exchanged, it was all like telepathy where I just knew everything — but in my dream he was VERY excited and happy to be going where he was going. Really pumped! And then the next morning we found out he had indeed passed on overnight. So . . . maybe your spokeskitty told you some good stuff there! A lovely story, thanks.

I wonder if your new cat Stella, is Gwen Cooper’s cat that she had to give up? Gwen Cooper is the author of a book called “Homer’s Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I learned about Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat”. She adopted a calico cat named Stella from a shelter in NYC (I think), but Stella did not get along with her cat Homer, so she had to take Stella to a cat rescue. I wonder if this is the same one?

That’s where she took Stella, was to Tabby’s place!!! What a small world! Check out her facebook page, and scroll down to about mid February, and she has pictures of Stella as well as stories about her. She was devastated that Stella did not work out for them, and was even more hurt that she had to give Stella up. You should send her a message and let her know that you adopted Stella and that she’s got a wonderful home. Also, if you haven’t read her book, I highly recommend it!
