---The new season of "Sherlock" - like the last one, a collection of three 90-minute stories, this time loosely adapting "A Scandal in Bohemia," "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and "The Final Problem" - finds Holmes at a professional peak and an existential low point………

Sherlock Holmes in the 21st century is well made, fast paced and visually stunning (watch in HD if you can). The BBC One adaptation of Sherlock returned to North American televisions last Sunday night with “A Scandal in Belgravia” airing and with new episode Sunday night (and streaming on their website if you missed it). or http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/sherlock/ Sunday night at 8 pm EST

It’s must see. Very well done. The only problem I have with it is sometimes they let the sound EFX get too loud and the quick british quips are hard to hear - and you don’t want to miss a word.

If you liked you will like Benedict Cumberbatch[Sherlock]. Then you might enjoy him in The Last Enemy. Nice conspiracy series with the threat of big government. Databases, cameras, security, etc.

My thoughts exactly. I have read every Sherlock Holmes story as well as watched all I could from Basil Rathbone (classic) to Jeramie Brett (excellent). I was not excited about this variant, but it is well done, very enjoyable and far better than Robert Downey’s current depictions (though those are fun on a much lower level).

I tried watching the Jeramie Brett adaption but didn’t really enjoy it however I do enjoy RBD jr. adaption because of how enjoyable they are (on a lower level). I am also a fan of RBD jr. due to his conservative beliefs.

I doubt anyone could beat Jeremy Brett’s Holmes.

Closed Captioning is not just for the hearing impaired. It's great for watching British produced television, especially when the accents are particularly thick.

Great!! Excellent series. I’m a Britt fan for the serious and according to the book stuff but this is great fun.

Oh I am so glad to hear this. I enjoyed the first season - although it could have been longer.

I download ‘em, so I saw them when they were aired in the UK. Great show. Wasn’t too fond of the Hound of the Baskervilles episode, but still better than most TV. Wish there were more than 3 episodes per season.

It may be best to enjoy each for what they are as each variation succeeds in its own way.

I did not know he was conservative.

I have to admit that I hate this version of Holmes and Watson (REALLY!!). My first choice is Brett, second Downey, Jr.

second Downey, Jr.

Downey is excellent as Holmes, my gripe with his version has more to do with the movie as adventure and overly unrealistic action scenes.

Robert Downey Jr. paid $40,000 to the Obama campaign to attend Clooney Hollywood fest. I, too, thought him a conservative, so this disappoints me.

The PBS version is edited. The whole show is available from iTunes, and has been from May 1st. I've watched it three times, now. I had to use earphones, full blast, to understand the “British quips.” It was frustrating. It was good to the last “Ah!”
