INDIANAPOLIS -- Celebrity chef Guy Fieri will spice things up behind the wheel at this month's Indianapolis 500.

As RTV6's Sports Director Dave Furst reported in early May, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway confirms the Food Network star has been tapped to drive the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 pace car.

Fieri rose to fame after winning "The Next Food Network Star" in 2006, and now hosts "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives," "Guy's Big Bite" and "Tailgate Warriors" on the network.

An avid classic car collector, Fieri owns the red 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."

We love Food Network too. My 13 year old is quite a foodie as a result. BUT I really miss Good Eats, so we switch to the Cooking channel when it is on.

Oh, I like the Cooking Channel, too. That’s where I learned to love Nigella Lawson. I own all her cookbooks.

The steak-dropping episode was deeply annoying. Why they chopped the woman over that guy is beyond me.

>> “You just put your finger on why I love the Food Network! No profanity, no sex, no hatred, no politics...” <<

.
You’ve got to be joking!

The freak network is all politics, hatred, and sex all the time.

Their “competitions” demean all the normal “contestants” in favor of queer, tattooed, pierced, spiked nut cases that couldn’t cook their way out of a wet kleenex.

Fieri a ‘chef?’

Really?

Guess I’ll just quit eating.

I enjoy the weird ingredients - it really focuses the chefs’ imaginations. If you really want to see a strange Food Network Show, by the way, tune into Sweet Genius! The host is a complete freak!

You’re just not really watching; neither am I, anymore.

It’s not the ingredients I object to, it’s the timed format. I think it would be far more interesting if the contestants were given a decent amount of time (that could still be condensed into an hour format), to really come up with some interesting combinations.

As for the Sweet Genius! show, I’ve seen the advertising. I’ll pass. I love my desserts, but the guy give me the creeps.
