Bristol Palin: I’ve been receiving death threats after I wrote blog post

Bristol Palin “stirred up a hornet's nest” when she penned a blog post lashing out against President Obama for consulting his daughters on gay marriage — and now she claims to have gotten death threats because of it.

The former Alaska governor's daughter used a new post to share screenshots of some the comments written on her site, including ones that say "kill yourself," "may death be upon you," and "You all, including your son, deserve a slow, painful and miserable death."

However, the 21-year-old isn’t backing down and argued the death threats only serve to undermine her critics who are attacking her.

"Around Hollywood, there's lots of concern and great initiatives to try to encourage more kindness in this world,” she wrote. “Then why do I get so many messages telling me I should die?"

Palin claims in the post she is victim of “bullying.”

"Here's a newsflash, guys. Your hate and bullying won't work,” she wrote.

I’m about as interested in Bristol Palin’s scribblings as I am in Meghan McCain’s blatherings. Neither one knows enough about anything to talk about it.

Then I guess you’re on the wrong thread.

Nah. None of you should be paying her any attention. You wouldn't care in the least what my daughter blogged about. Sarah's daughter should be no different.

I mean, you're completely free to agonize over Bristol's trials and tribulations, but why?

from the article

“Palin — a single mom who was never married — then argued children are raised in homes where there is both a mother and a father.”

Do as I say not as I do.

If we were talking about "Meghan McCain’s blatherings,” or even those of Ronald P. Reagan, you would have a point. In a similar vein, you could say, “Why worry about George Zimmerman?” Because the odds are pretty good that, as a Democrat, he has advocated some foolish “liberal" policies in the past. It wouldn’t even shock me to learn that, sometime in the past, some Republican had gotten into difficulty with the PC police, and Zimmerman had been cheerleading the lynch mob.
But
  1. Bristol is talking sense, and talking from her own experience. And,

  2. Like Zimmerman (if on a lesser scale), she is under attack by the PC police.
So I see no reason to eschew discussion of her blogging. Any more than I see a reason to ignore you, just because you’re not Thomas Sowell.

“Why worry about George Zimmerman?

What kind of an analogy is that? I wouldn't give two cents to read his scribblings, either. But I certainly don't want to see him go to jail for trumped-up, politically-motivated charges.

For that matter, I wouldn't want Meghan or Bristol to suffer that fate. Now, I'm not saying Bristol Palin isn't right on this or other issues. I just don't understand why grown adults would pay her any attention.

Is it because of her mother? I love her mother; her mother has accomplished a lot. When Bristol's actually straightened out her life and accomplished something, anything, I'll give her a listen.

I don’t want Zimmerman jailed for trumped-up, politically-motivated charges, and I don’t want Gov. Palin or her family subjected to ad hominem attacks, either.

Neither of those would have would have been done to Democrats - at least not by Republicans. George Zimmerman actually is a Democrat - but he has been awarded honorary white Republican status for convenience of the sort of Democrat who would trade mark their own dead son’s name in hopes of self aggrandizement.

I assure you, neither do I. I certainly didn't mean to sound dismissive of the threats though I can see now how I might have been taken that way. I was just surprised that anyone cared about what she wrote in the first place.

I wish her no ill will at all.
