I bought the Taurus PT145 Millenium Pro (third Generation) back in 2009. The weapon came with an inexpensive plastic magazine speed loader.

If yours did not then you can go to CheaperThanDirt.com (CTD) and get one for around four bucks. It is the ADCO Superthumb and works really well. I had to buy one for the PT111 Millenium Pro I bought for my wife's concealed carry gun and one for my Ruger LCP. For some reason Taurus only supplies the speed loader with the 45ACP and not the 9mm or the 40S&W ( own one of each weapon).

I tried to find one of the fancier HKS loaders at CTD but after buying four different models that did not work with my Taurus I just kept using the Taurus supplied loader.

By the way. Go on-line and find the Federal Law Enforcement 230grain Hydra-Shok cartridges. The FBI says they are still the best single shot stop bullet made, although there are many others that are almost as effective.

Seems like the recoil'd be a bitch. How is it to shoot?

I have had my PT145 MP since 2009 and have fired well over 5000 rounds through it.

I can run two or three hundred rounds through it in one session and not have any pain but I have been shooting since I was a child and I love firearms.

I have three different Millenium Pros and they all have had one bizarre problem: I bought over 1000 rounds of Speer Law Enforcement TMJ ammo for each of them to use at the range. I got a great deal on the ammo. Anyway, at 15 to 20 yards the groups were all low left about four inches. They did the same when my wife, daughter, son and daughter's boyfriend fired them. I took out a box of bulk Winchesters purchased at Walmart and the things were dead on target in the black. I bought some for the other pistols and the same thing happened.

My reloads all print in the black and so do the actual defense rounds we use for concealed carry. The Speers all print funny.

There is a cheap loader in the case. THANK YOU! All problems served in less than $300 and 50 responses. We have to keep this site alive!

I checked the case and found a cheap loader. No one advized that I remove my head from my ass first. I can get 19 rounds in before I through it across the room. Should be good, I never fired below Expert in the Corps.$225 for the LaserGrips on the way and I have a pretty fine defense weapon. Thank you all, life is good.

I could have save money with tactical Tupperware but, I don't shoot Glocks, use Apples or drive BMWs. That was fun, thanks again.

Next week Boys and Girls we reroute the gas system to remove the front sites on the AR15 for the Red-Dot.

Second the MagPul UpLula magazine loader. About $25-30 .

Works like a champ on just about any single or double stack mag.

I got my wife a Taurus Slim 9mm. It’s small enough to conceal and has less of a kick than a .45. Define “not accurate enough” - for self-defense, if you can put all the rounds in a 9” circle (we use paper plates as targets) at 25’, it’s accurate enough. I prefer the autos because you can carry extra, pre-loaded magazines. All autos can be hard to get the last shell or two into the mag and those with the extra size magazines can be even harder to top off. I have a Kahr P-380 with 6-shot mags because it’s small enough for a pocket. At 25’ it shoots about 2-1/2” low and left, but I can adjust for it if trying to center my shots. However, in a self-defense situation it would just be point and shoot and being able to hit the body mass in a 1’ area is more than enough accuracy - I load it up with Hornady Critical Defense rounds, so a dead center hit is not required. It’s a balamnce between what you can handle comfortably and utility - only you can make the decision.

Mine is the same model with the CT laserguard. I really like that pistol.

I don’t have an answer for you but I bet “Gecko45” does.

Expert in all things tactical, he makes for an interesting read: http://lonelymachines.org/mall-ninjas/

Enjoy.

I like the way you think:

1) S&W Model 637 .38 Special

2) S&W Model 66 .357 Magnum

3) Taurus PT 745 Millenium Pro .45 ACP

All three of which I will lose in a boating accident next week.

“Never liked them. Too much plastic and too many aholes shoot them.”
I favor my Glock 30, have 6 others and live amongst ‘aholes’.

The Springfield’s are fantastic pistols except for their triggers and they really suck. The take up, breaking weight, and over travel are really bad. The powder river trigger kit, self or factory installed, solves the trigger problem completely. I used to carry the Glock 23 but this set up is a lot better at least in my hands. One big caution is that with work and a few different parts you can bring this trigger down to under 2.5 lbs. Do not go there. At that trigger pull/weigh it is to easy to make this handgun go bang in a high stress situation.

The Malula or whatever came in today and is a great tool. Thursday should be Lasersight day. WooHoo!. The gun (or I) shoots a little low, but I can work on that. The red Dot on the AR needs some bore sighting, but I have nothing else to do.

Thanks Guys!!
