Toledo Casino Promises To Attract Detroit Wealthy

TOLEDO, Ohio - Ohio's second casino is ready for its debut. The Hollywood Casino in Toledo opens Tuesday, just two weeks after the state's first casino opened to big crowds in downtown Cleveland. The Toledo casino will go head-to-head for customers with three casinos that are just an hour's drive to the north in Detroit. Developers say there's room for both even though the two casinos are just two hours apart.

No talk yet of a high speed train connecting the scenic vistas of Detroit and Toledo.

I suppose they would be a great deal better off if they attracted Detroit’s “wealthy” as opposed to Obama’s kids and Holder’s “People” who “walk into” neighborhood grocery stores and rob the place blind.

The “wealthy” tend to go somewhere, and if they do, or if they opt not to purchase anything; they tend not to help themselves to things they haven’t paid for.

But, I guess I’m racist for noticing something like that. After all, theirs is just a different culture, and all cultures are equal < /sarcasm>

I'm sure Detroit's "wealthy" are just salivating to get to scenic upscale Toledo Ohio to do their gambling.

Their target market is crack dealers? Good luck with that.

Indiana made a ton of tax money getting in early (1995) with casinos in the Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio border areas which didn’t have legalized gambling at the time.

Now with everybody doing it, it’s basically a zero sum game.

With Detroit there are Casinos right across the river in Windsor and bigger payouts if what I hear is true.

Detroit has wealthy?

I think they mean the government employees and public union bosses. Those that had to work for their money are too conservative to waste it in a Toledo Casino.

Yes, I don’t know how they compare to the new Ohio ones, and pretty clueless on casino gambling in general.

The two newest ones here in Indiana which have horse tracks and parimutuel wagering along with the casino have both gone bankrupt in the last couple years as the Baraqqi Depression grinds on.

You’re in a world of hurt, demographically speaking, when your “upscale” population is attracted to Toledo.

****

But - last time I checked - you didn't need a passport to go to Toledo.
