In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

ventose \VEN-tohs\, adjective
Given to empty talk; windy.

Example sentences:
Anyhow, it is better to wind up that way than to go growling out one's existence as a ventose hypochondriac.
-- Thomas Henry Huxley, Life and Letters of Thomas Henry Huxley

The ventose orator was confounded, and put himself and his glass down together.
-- L. J. Bigelow, Bench and Bar

Etymology:
First used in English in the 1700s, ventose is derived from the Latin word for wind, "vent."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Hey hockey fans! If you don't want to see a Flyer on the cover of the new EA Sports NHL Game, you can help make history and put a cool goalie on it instead.

Fauxcahontas's ventose verbosity is really off the charts. Scott Brown is one lucky hombre.

I am guessing Brown’s poll #s look so good that no Dem with any character wants to risk the loss. Fauxcohauntus appears to have no such concerns, she’s risked it all on Door#3 and is about to lose everything.

I’ll take things the McCain campaign wouldn’t have had the guts to do for $1000 Alex.

Humid, cloudy, not too warm and very still-definately trying to rain...

Obama has already begun to send
His best carnival barkers out
To follow Romney, draw some crowds
And try to generate some doubt

But even the most ventose ones
Are already running out of fuel-
Even Clinton-trained Axelrod
Was just set up for ridicule

Maybe the next clever mouthpiece
Dispatched to do Obama’s bidding
Will show some sense, refuse to go,
Say instead “you must be kidding”
