With the bad choice of words taken away, she is saying “there is a significant chance that a baby I conceive would be disabled, and I therefore don’t want to make that choice.”

You know, I always find it ironic how when people like her demand so much tolerance, they bite out so much at people who are so very different. The other problem with what she says is that if you adopt at infancy, there’s loads of developmental issues like autism that don’t show up until the baby matures since then, so seriously, adopting a baby that isn’t what she considers “retarded” isn’t a guarantee.
