“He was attacking our dog with his arm!”, said the officer.
I’m not one for frivolous lawsuits, but I’d sue the daylights out of the city.
Most bad guys avoid police dogs like the plague. The reason is they know the dog won’t cease attack until it is called off by the trainer.
A cop told me a story of an annual concert that catered to Hispanics in our area. Each year when the concert ended, the crowd would not leave because they wanted to continue to drink and party. The police used to have to send out 15 to 20 officers to break up the crowd. Now they send a single K-9 unit and poof the rowdies run for their cars.
You may be right. I think a "hate crime" has been committed here. Call in the "thought police".
Cha-ching. This case will settle for $250,000, or go all the way for a bunch more.
Again, police should not be allowed to use attack dogs. This is a great illustration. You cannot surrender to a dog.
I have a mali. You don’t have to teach them to bite, you have to teach them to out, for the most part, you give them an opportunity, they will bite.
You never know what may have really happened. The first ‘protective’ type dog I owned was a really good dobe 30 years ago. One day I heard him barking/growling and a teenager was walking by, when the dog came to the fence he was smacking a baseball bat against the fence right in the dog’s face. Common sense doesn’t rule. It sounds like there was a malfunction, and a malinois has tremendous prey drive, if the guy took off at a run, he gave chase, took the proper bite on the upper arm, and held on.
They love to bite so much, that you use the bite as a reward in training. They are kind of odd, they will pretty much bite with a ‘smile’. In other words, don’t tend to be vicious, often don’t growl, it is all a game/play to them. It does make them easier to train/handle because normally they aren’t in a defensive posture, they are just playing.
I am surprised the victim didn’t get shot by the cop for “attacking” the dog. The cop would have been vindicated regardless of what the camera shows.
Perhaps that raises another question here.
Dogs in the police and security business are taught commands in German. Perhaps dog heard the victim or someone else inadvertently say, “fassen!” (grab).

How do they train police dogs to not notice the pattern that most perps needing take down are black?
What might have happened is the cop accidentally pressed the door release remote, and the dog thought "Show time! Time to take down the nearest black man. Praise and a handful of Snausages will soon follow."
Ban Malinois. They have locking jaws.
I would have.
Me, too, and without hesitation.
Me, too, and without hesitation.
YES !! By their own definition this is a viscous animal and must be destroyed.
If they are too attached to it.. I will shoot it for them.
...ooops.....vicious
Cha-ching!
Was the guy video taping the dog by chance?
