Firefox loading some pages slowly

Posted on 06/09/2012 10:11:17 AM PDT by EveningStar

Can anyone help?

A few days ago, Firefox began loading some pages very slowly or not at all.

I've cleared the cache, made adjustments to about:config, uninstalled, and reinstalled and I still can't fix this.

This occurred prior to the 13.0 upgrade. Installing the upgrade didn't work either.

I've switched to Google Chrome for the time being.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. :)

I have FF 13.0 and it works just fine, did not notice any difference prior to or after update.

Protocol demands that I ask you the following question:

Are you sure that you're logged in?

Google’s dominion in Internet search is all I can take.

I wouldn’t use a single Google product I did not have to.

My Firefox, 13.0 in Win7 is working excellent.

Have you fully shut down Firefox, checked to make sure it was gone using the Task Manage, and then restarted it?

It tends to have memory leaks.

The last 3 FF versions have been a bit glitchy here,, web pages have so many bells and whistles these days, I think my laptop has reached a golden age and I need a new one to keep up memory management-wise,, It’s nice to have options.

Firefox. Just like AVG.

Started out great.

Turned to crap.

I had an issue with Firefox and Chrome being non compatible. When I downloaded Chrome to try it my Firefox started acting up and the Chrome did not work well either. I forgot where I found it but the advice was to uninstall Chrome and my Firefox has worked well ever since. It seems to be one or the other which is kind of strange since the latest Firefox comes with all sorts of Google promos.

I don’t think this is a problem with FF. I’m pretty sure it’s a problem with MY computer. FF is working just fine on my wife’s computer.

Have you run a complete virus scan and tried Malwarebytes?

Yes FF is getting slower the crap. Mine updated to 13 last night and it has a few weird quirks I don’t like. But just wait a few months and it will change back or to some other quirk! LOL

Whoa!!!, smokingfrog. I used those settings from your link, and I do believe FF(12.0) is loading big web pages faster. Thanks.
