The same way here in the South. I have to show ID every time I get a can of lye just to make my own soap.

And my soap is better than any store bought soap!

I have been buying Robic everytime I go to Lowes for the last year or so. I see a day when buying lye will be harder then it already is. I have not purchased soap in years.

I don’t make my own soap, but I do buy a can of lye occasionally for cleaning aluninum out of the teeth of files and rotary cutters.
