Carney: "Bush started Fast and Furious; Obama ended it"
Rush Limbaugh Show | 6/21/12 | Limbaugh

Posted on 06/21/2012 9:55:17 AM PDT by pabianice

Rush just played this tape. Rancid Media is backing Carney. Rush wants to know why Obama is invoking executive privilege if (1) Obama was not involved and/or (2) Obama ended an operation he knew nothing about. Rush: "It's all falling apart for them." CBS forced to report on F&F for first time because of Obama's involvement.

Anyone in the media going to point out that what Carney said is simply untrue?

OK, thanks! Sorry I missed that line. It doesn't make any material difference but I wanted to nail that fact down when trying to explain the differences.

Bottom line; Wide Receiver didn't "walk" guns and it ended while Bush was in office after an unintentional loss of control of the guns. F&F intentionally let guns "walk." Holder did not end the "Bush era" practice of "walking" guns because no guns ever "walked" under Bush.

Here the official Congressional 51 pg. report for Rep. Issa about Fast & Furious. I’ve only read a few pages of the Executive Summary.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/86505046/Gunwalker-Operation-Report-Fast-and-Furious

An excerpt to the original justification for F&F:

Page 11
IV. The ATF Policy on Gun Interdiction:“You Don’t Get to Go Home”

ATF’s long-standing policy has been not to knowingly allow guns to “walk” into the hands of criminals. Yet DOJ and ATF used a 1989 ATF order to help justify allowing straw purchasers allegedly connected to Mexican drug cartels to illegally buy more than 1,800 weapons during Operation Fast and Furious. While this Order permits agents—at their discretion—to allow the illegal transfer of firearms to further an investigation, it does not go so far as to permit them to pull surveillance completely and allow the guns to walk.

“A.The Justification for Operation Fast and Furious

FINDING:

DOJ and ATF inappropriately and recklessly relied on a 20-year old ATF Order to allow guns to walk. DOJ and ATF knew from an early date that guns were being trafficked to the DTOs.

Released on February 8, 1989, ATF Order 3310.4(b) explains ATF’s Firearms Enforcement Program. The Department of Justice and ATF relied on this Order to defend Operation Fast and Furious. ATF leadership in Phoenix believed a specific clause within the Order, section 148(a)(2), justified Operation Fast and Furious and its policy to allow guns to walk. The clause reads as follow...”

When is Bush or a republication “spokesman” going to throw down the bullshit flag and call the Obama administration on it's many lies? Why are our folks so wimpy? What's to gain by being silent? Sigh....I feel like Diogenes's looking for someone with a backbone and some balls....

If Bush doesn’t say something he’s doing the nation and the Constitution a tremendous disservice. He is OBLIGATED to speak up.

Carney was talking about "gun walking" which started during the Bush administration and Holder stopped it. That part is technically true.
No it isn't "true", even technically, in any way, shape or form! Operation Wide Receiver was shut down in 2007, well before these pathological liars were elected to office or appointed to the position.

So if what you say is true then tell me what job did Holder have in the Bush administration in 2007?

Wasn't he a hired on as an adviser in 2007?

Eric Holder joins Obama August 17, 2007

Eric Holder has joined Obama’s presidential campaign.

You need to get your facts right.

You expect ONE "spokesman" to call out the "many lies"?Didn't you see what happened to Palin?

Why on earth do you think one single person can take on all the academicians, MSM heads, trial lawyers and corrupt politicians on the left?

No, our guys are not wimpy. They are willing to fight wars that need to be fought. The problem is extreme demogoguery on the left which allows them to feel free to say ANY lie necessary to fool the simple citizens who don't know what's really going on. Very similar to what happened in Russia.

It's a hard fight that needs to be fought by ALL of us, not just "one" spokesperson. But the rise of right-wing media and the fall of the dinosaur media shows we are winning slowly but surely.

"Gun Walking" means intentionally letting guns get out of your control. There was no "gun walking" done in the Wide Receiver operation. None. Some guns did get out of their control but only because the Mexican authorities they were working with dropped the ball. The intention was to interdict the guns before the buyer ever got them.

The Department of Justice ’ s Operation Fast and Furious: Accounts of ATF Agents

(above) Four ATF field agents testify under oath that they "never even heard of intentionally letting guns "walk" before F&F."

Those four agents all define "walking" as intentionally letting guns get out of their control. They are very specific about that.

I'll say it @again...

The effort is to distract, conflate and confuse.
You have to get people to believe that it's the same project Bush started and convince them that they don't need to go looking and find out it's not. (take our word for it)

Meanwhile, in reality, it's lies...all lies!

Special mention needs to be repeatedly made that the Bush administration’s “Operation Wide Receiver” was shut down in 2007, well before these pathological liars were even in office.

That would be the WORST thing that could happen. If Pres. Bush spoke up HE would become the issue.

Plus...why interfere when your enemy is already hanging himself?

The attempts to continue the perpetuation of such lies is disgusting and contemptible.

Boortz was explaining today that the weapons given during Bush’s term had tracking devices on them that drones could track them after the guns were picked up. The buyers knew this, so after they crossed the border, the buyers would go out into the desert and driver aimlessly around and around in a circluar trip until the drones were getting low on fuel and had to back off and return to base. Then the buyers would deliver their weapons to the cartel.
