In these lean times, the Milwaukee School of Engineering is offering a deal: Buy one degree, get a second degree free.

Starting next fall, students who graduate with an MSOE bachelor's degree can earn a tuition-free master's degree if they continue full-time and maintain good grades.

"A free master's degree is a 20% discount on five years of education," said Scott Jaschik, editor of Inside Higher Education, a higher education trade publication.

MSOE figures it will take most students 1 1/4 years to complete a master's.

I’ve never heard of anyone completing a masters degree in engineering in 3 semesters.

I think you can do it if you’re full time with a pretty good load each semester. Of course there’s always the bugaboo of course scheduling since a lot of these higher level courses aren’t taught all the time and you can’t always get what you want.

My SIL did it part time in 5 sems @ Purdue.

MSOE is tri-semester.

A family member attended there. You graduate with B.S. having about 160-180 hrs. Forgot now how many but well beyond most others 120-130 hrs.

I got my BS in Computer Science and Engineering at MSOE. I wonder if I qualify. I’d love to get my MBA there.
