New Verse for the Statue of Liberty....
Mrs. HossB86's Brain | July 11, 2012 | Mrs. HossB86

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, or posted incorrectly -- long time "replier" but first-time poster....

Just got an email from Mrs. Hoss at work....

"Hey Sweetheart,

While finishing my lunch, I penned a new verse for the statue of Liberty.

Instead of:

'Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!'

Now it should be:

Forgive my people, now full of woe,
Who voted away liberty and now live in fear,
Many would flee but there is no place to go.
Please save those, my patriots, whom I hold dear,
I lift my lamp but the flame of freedom burns low."

Pretty much sums up what's been happening to our nation.

I got this email from my wife Mrs. Hoss, and was struck by its prescience. Forgive me if it's in the wrong forum or in some way bad form. First time doing this.
