Looks a little slow tonite, so I'll pose a question. I have a TC Contender Carbine with 17m2, .223 and 6.8 SPC barrels. Somebody tell me why I should or should not get my next barrel in .204 Ruger. To be used for varmints and paper.

Why not go larger like .308?
Wow the eye relief is really far back compared to my scope.

I've always been partial to the .220 Swift for varmits. Old school and well papered for loads.
But that .204 Ruger sounds like a good round.

Is anybody offering a replacement barrel assembly? That might be something to look into what with the rising popularity of that pistol and the prob of bulging.
Just a thought.

IMHO I would go larger with a caliber that is cheap and you can buy (or trade) anywhere. Either .308 or 30.06 would be my choices.
