A convicted sex abuser who has filed a one million dollar suit against the pro-family group Mass Resistance suffered a setback last week when his motion for a preliminary injunction to silence the group was rejected by the presiding judge.
Maine may not punish, through criminal sanction, an individuals actions that are protected by the free speech clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, wrote District Judge Patricia G. Worth in her decision, signed on July 11.
Meanwhile, a police chief that Adam E. Flanders has repeatedly claimed supported his lawsuit and described his sex abuse charge as akin to stealing a candy bar has disputed Flanders account of events in a LifeSiteNews (LSN) interview. LSN has also learned that in addition to the sex abuse charge, Flanders has been convicted of assaulting a minor with whom he had a sexual relationship, as well as the boys father, with a knife.

It's a good thing they had this judge and not John Roberts. He would have interpreted the requested punishment as a tax, and thus a legitimate extension of governmental authority.
You got that right.
I am relieved that a judge anywhere in the U.S., let alone a female judge, is still willing to uphold the First Amendment when it pertains to traditional Americans.
Ironically, this perv is trying to use the legal system to exempt him from the consequences of his actions. For people like this, it should be one strike and you’re out.
That poor soul has dead eyes and a rage-filled, defiant smirk. Needs prayers to come to his senses before he completely wastes his young life.
I agree. The worst of it is, he was the one originally exposing gay youth clubs for being predatory, abusing minors, and serving alcohol to underage members. He drew attention to the clubs by contacting law enforcement himself, which was a noble thing.
Somehow or other, he reversed his stance.
I think Mass Resistance is headed by a Brian Carnamaker (sp). He is an Orthodox Jew. Also, that report of black mobs beating up Jews are beating up Orthodox Jews and they are the one’s that vote Republican because of support for Israel and opposition to abortion and homosexuality; etc.
Funny; I didn't read it that way at all. I read that he was seeking revenge on individuals in the Out group (although perhaps unconsciously seeking help); but in his confusion, sank his own reputation with other gays.
The unitended consequences -- the letter posted on the Internet by pro-family groups -- apparently hadn't occurred to him when he cooked up his scheme to harm the Out group.
Well, I had read on the AFTAH site some months ago that he had listed practices of the Out group which included charges to the police that they had been predatory and had served alcohol to minors. It was my understanding that he was in earnest, although maybe I did not read carefully enough. He did wind up accused himself of sex with a minor, and then began to go after MassResistance.
Here is the link to the 2007 letter of Flanders, although I understand he may have been seeking revenge and then sunk himself. But I had assumed he really did want to expose what he believed was the hypocrisy of the youth organization:

I read the letter, pretty sick and disgusting. An 18 year old man having sexual relations with a 14 year old. The gay lifestyle, all it brings is torment, unhappiness and stupid drama. This is also proof that sex outside of marriage only brings grief.
