Better: Take it to the bomb disposal range and give it 50 pounds of C4 as a send off.

Melt it at the local scrap yard! Then bring the melted mess back to Penn State and set it up with a this sign: "Disgraced" Over the years students will ask what he did - and the story will be told for as long as the school exists...
