This is a great message to send to the American people. We will not honor those without the principles to protect the innocent. Cowards of this magnitude deserve no honor!

This is why you should never put up a statue of a then-living person.

Knowing Pedo State, they’ll probably replace it with a statue of an anatomically-correct pre-teen boy.

“Erickson’s decision comes at an especially sensitive time for the university. Trustees and administrators are the subject of an NCAA investigation, and several trustees have said that if the statue remained it could weigh as a negative symbol in the NCAA’s discussions on a punishment for the football program.”

It’s still all about football and money!!!

I remember (I think it was back in the 1980s) when there was talk of Paterno retiring. He ended the talk by saying “I don’t want to leave college football to the likes of people like Barry Switzer”. Or something close to that. All I can say is how ironic!!

Wow. Here's this guy who's been almost a "gxd" at Penn State for decades and now all of a sudden everything has reversed completely. Now this "gxd" is having his statue removed.

Gives me hope that we might (at least theoretically) be able to undo the current administration!

After that VERY public threat by someone who paid for that flying banner behind an airplane flying over the Penn State campus saying they would do something about that statue, it didn't take long for the statue to be quickly removed out of fear someone was going to blow it up or seriously damage it in some way. The tragedy in Aurora, CO a few nights ago may have hastened that decision, in my humble opinion.

Joe and Sandusky will become icons of the gay community. Let them march in their disgusting parades and all normal people will eventually realize same-sex rape of young boys is what yet remains in their closet. Keep outing gays on this issue and eventually they can be forced to shut their coprophilic mouths.

“Melt it at the local scrap yard!”

Yes, melt it down...

Joe Paterno Legacy...

Pompous Pedophile Protector, doomed by his proclivity to his own pomposity…he cared more about his own image and his ‘about to be damned’ football program than he cared about the young boys scarred for life by the evil perpetrator Jerry Sandusky. Better that he had never been born…

I seem to remember Penn state's president declaring his goal was to make Happy Valley the most gay friendly campus in the nation

It seems he didn't have much work to do

I wonder if that is in part why this was allowed to go on and on?

“the most gay friendly campus in the nation”

.

No way Paterno didn’t know what was going on after all those years. If by any measure he did, and did nothing to stop it, it’s far hotter than the desert where he is today.
