New Spiderman Movie question

Posted on 07/23/2012 5:34:21 PM PDT by MNDude

Is this movie ok for kids? How would it compare to Avengers as far as violence, language, and sex goes?

Perfect to take kids. No sex at all. The only complaint I have with Spiderman is that it was too long....2 hours 14 minutes.....I saw Batman with my brother, sister, brother in law and nephew aged 14 which was good too...however that was 2 hours 44 minutes....too long in my opinion. Now go see Ted. Perfect movie at the right about of time....no kids though.

Very family oriented. Less violent than the first Spider-man movie, but still fantasy violence.

It was much better than the first three and very much family friendly. There is violence but no gore. And, Emma Stone is lovely.

Maybe it’s too long for young kids with a short attention span. I saw Batman yesterday and was surprised how well paced it was. Fastest three hours in a while for me.

It’s good for a 2 hour nap. Boring...

No. Not family friendly, contrary to what others are saying here.

Check out http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/intheaters/amazing-spider-man.aspx for detailed review to see if it meets your standards.

Compared to what else Hollywood puts out these days, it is rather tame, but it is also not as tame as earlier Spider-Man movies.

If you consider lying to parents, rebellion, theft, sensual behavior of an unmarried teenage couple (or couples) to be family-friendly, then I guess that what it is. Keep in mind that these ideals are projected by the protagonist and his leading lady, not the villains of the story.

Like most Hollywood movies, it is religious. Or at least God gets mentioned about 6 times, just not in a good way.

The Avengers was generally respectful toward God, and the Tony Stark playboy roll is toned down for the most part. If you are looking for something like it, I don’t think the new Spider Man measures up.
