On Wednesday at 10AM ET (7AM PT) the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will conduct a hearing on (take your pick) global warming climate change climate disruption. Dr. John Christy will be there, but it is confirmed that Dr. Richard Muller of BEST will NOT be testifying. From what I hear it will be webcast, details below.
It is called: Update on the Latest Climate Change Science and Local Adaptation Measures.
You can watch the webcast at http://www.epw.senate.gov

John Christys Testimony before the Senate EPW today

Theo Goodwin says:
Wonderful work, Dr. Christy.
He mentions, once again, an old dinosaur whose very existence should have caused all climate scientists and meteorologists to blush with shame. He writes:
The problem with the popular surface temperature datasets is they use the average of the
daytime high and nighttime low as their measurement (i.e. (TMax+TMin)/2).
This average, this contrivance, is one of the most bone-headed ideas known to mankind. Why people who call themselves scientists, or even TV weathermen, would average crucial pieces of raw data, especially pieces that are qualitatively different in character, and then use that average to create the all important surface temperature datasets is a question that should strike terror into everyone interested in the quality of climate science or even TV meteorology. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Can we now agree to use the raw data?
I wonder if they’re going to discuss that whole “Tree Ring Misunderstanding” that came up last month in some of the still uncontrolled news sources?
fyi
You can bet that the big question discussed at these meetings will be if global warming is temperature related.
Inhofe probably was responsible for Christy being there.
Global Warming? Yeah, right
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100173174/global-warming-yeah-right/
Between McIntyre’s exposure of both the cherry-picked Yamal proxy data fraud and non-compliant temperature stations bumping up the readings to the point of doubling the estimated “warming,” I’ll bet this will be one very interesting hearing.
I watched about the first two minutes and it was all I could stand. ‘According to EVERY group of LEADING scientists global warming is real, it is almost all caused by people...’ it went on and on.
So, once again, I ask the GW alarmists this question:
If 'global warming' is real and caused by human activity, when are we going to demand that the Chicoms curtail their greenhouse gas emissions? And if they refuse, when are we going to threaten to go to war with them to get them to stop emitting greenhouse gases?
After all, they're destroying the planet, and it's the only one we have, correct? Isn't saving the planet a good enough reason to go to war?
But of course, we all know that GW alarmism has nothing to due with the climate, and everything to do with expanding government power.
So the Chicoms keep on polluting, while EPA bureaucrats shut down a large percentage of our electric generating capacity because of this hoax. The climate hoaxers and the EPA bureaucrats that they're in league should all be hanged as traitors for the damage they're doing to this country and our way of life.
While I agree with you, I hope you know about whom you are speaking when it comes to the sponsors of those hoaxers: the tax exempt, "charitable" foundations belonging to the major stockholders in petrochemical companies.
I went to the live video. Listened to the first few minutes of Boxer’s horse manure. Couldn’t take it, clicked through about ten sections where in each case a democrat Senator or later so called scientist spread the bull shit out to eye ball level. Left the site. Could not handle listening to so many near idiots who actually believe the crap some sectors feed them.
OK,...does sound like Boxer got what she wanted.
