Verizon FiOS 75/35 with Yahoo mail...no problems (knock on wood). Had more problems with Verizon Internet Security Suite not liking Chrome at all. OK with Firefox it seems.

We are too dependent on the internet. Take out the internet and some key cell towers and the U.S. would not be able to function. No need to bother with the complexities of the power grid.

To put things into perspective, in the past we were too dependent on Pony Express, then railroads, then the telegraph, then the telephone. All of these technologies are only useful if the rest of society is functioning and a failure will be no more than an inconvenience to those of us who appreciate the value of redundancy.

Still up.

had probs for a couple of hours earlier in the week.

They’ll fix it soon. Just a little annoying when you need to use them.

Yesterday there was an accident involving AT&T fiber optic cable. Some guy on a backhoe/trencher turned L when he should have turned R and cut the cable in half! Not only affected AT&T but Mediacom, and other ISP who use it. Half the State of Missouri was without Internet for 6-8 hours. Illinois and other states affected as well. Slow down in transmission.

Anyway, things should be back to normal by now, unless an additional problem?

I cancelled my yahoo mail account two weeks ago. My log on page showed 52 new email messages, there were none. There were 22 emails in my spam folder. Who needs this.

I replaced my yahoo e-mail address with a live.com address. So far no problem.
