In a televised address, Nixon, flanked by his family, announced to the American public that he would step down rather than endure a Senate impeachment trial for obstruction of justice. Since 1972, Nixon had battled increasing vociferous allegations that he knew of, and may have authorized, a botched burglary in which several men were arrested for attempting to bug the offices of the Democratic National Committee...

You’d be surprized on how many individuals I’ve spoke with who believe Nixon was impeached and Clinton wasn’t.

Nixon just got caught, and had a Democratic Party that was looking for any little thing to get rid of him.

Yet an impeached rapist (and probably worse) rakes in millions, lives like a king, gets a government pension, receives SS protection and will be keynote speaker for the dims.

For all his faults, Nixon was not even in the same league as Bubba Klinton.

Worst Republican President in history. However he will have some competition starting next year.

The applicable law of double standards was applied to the whole incident. It was a case of your typical political high jinks or dirty tricks as they call it. As far as I was concerned it was much ado about nothing. But it did give us the famous quote; “I have everything under control”.

Nixon was a marked man because of his role in HUAC.

The ENTIRE US House, US Senate and the US Supreme Court circa 1972 through 1975 DESERVES a SPECIAL Place in HELL!

He could have easily survived the fiasco by asking for the resignations of his top aides and the others who knew about the break in.

And thus the mainstream media coup to seize control of the American Government achieved success.

Nixon's crime was directing the cover-up, not the break-in at the Watergate. The same kind of stuff Obama gets praised for daily by the media.

Nixon established the EPA

Nixon took the US off the Gold Standard

Nixon imposed Wage and Price Controls

Nixon was a Socialist and not even Obama can claim to be a bigger Socialist than Nixon.

It’s hard to decide which has been more disastrous, the creation of the EPA or the loss of the gold standard. I knew Nixon pushed for the EPA, but I wasn’t aware he had his hands on the gold standard.
