For trivial reasons- Dems had Buchanan & Breckinridge .in 1856.
Will Ryan need to quit the Congress now. I know he would not choose to run for reelection to Congress as well. Even if it were legal in Wisconsin.
FAIL, sorry Stevenson Sparkman, My bad. Blame late hour/ early.
Lyndon Johnson ran for Senate an Vice president in the same election and was elected to both. I don’t remember whether they had a special election to fill his Senate seat, or if the seat was filled by short term appointment until the next election. I certainly hope that Ryan would NOT
resign his seat in the House, if it is legal for him to run for both positions. Knowing Paul, however, I think that he WOULD resign out of a sense of dedication to his district.
I love alliteration. The signs will be nice.
As did Democrats VP candidates Joe Biden (2008) John Edwards (2004) Joe Lieberman (2000)& Lloyd Bentsen (1988). The Senate term of all was expiring and all reran simultaneously. They all lost the VP but won their Senate relection and served the following term.
Edwards was a one term Senator. He did not run for reelection.
You also posted too quickly. (Grammar police).
Reminds me of Ronald Reagan :)
You were just confused. Biden won, WE lost.
He could ask still-serving, Joe Lieberman about the resignation question.
The third R is for Republican.
