Thank you so much, he was my favorite cat. We also lost an orange tabby last year, he was just too big, 25 lbs, and his heart couldn’t handle it.

We buried my late mother’s black cat in our Ozarks woods last year. Mom was the cat’s third owner and the cat (it) was always freaky.

We had him, with our other cat of eight or nine years, for just one year, after my mom passed in June, 2011.

I know what it is to love a lose a cat.
I lost my Isis, a beautiful short haired solid black female, a few years ago.

She used to bring me mice as a gift, and once when I was sick for a week, she curled up on my bed next to me and would not leave.
I cried for a week when I lost her, and I still miss her.

So many of us understand. Even with other kitties or pets, the loss of any of them is hard to take as each is so individual. We feel for you. But know that your sweet pet is no longer in pain, and was loved for the time with you.

It’s amazing how a little furry critter can waller out a spot in your heart. I have a rabbit. Actually, it’s my daughter’s pet, but I am really fond of her. Dumb as a post, but I’m really fond of her.

You did the right thing letting Orphan go. Sometimes it is very diFficult not to be selfish because we want to keep them a little while longer.

I’m so sorry you lost your little cat. I love my cats.

I don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but after losing some of them, I continued to ‘see’ them about the house.

One little cat we found in the road, injured, and took her to a vet. When we arrived she had passed. My husband and I felt terrible.

But for the next two weeks we both independently felt a cat jump up on the bed, very strongly felt, unknownst to each other.

I mentioned it to my husband at the end of the two weeks, he confessed it had happened also to him. Stopped after we discussed it. I think the cat was saying goodbye and thank you.

Yet the cat had never been to our house.

The little one is ‘somewhere’ I believe you may see her again.

My tabby was a big one as well, about 20 lbs but really muscular and very healthy...he just decided to adopt my neighbors after 3 years with me. He would hang out with their herd (they had over 10), one of them would bring him back, he’d split again a week or so later.

The fifth or sixth time he pulled the disappearing act, they call to let me know he was there yet again. Bear in mind that this cat HATED other animals yet played and cuddled with their kitties like he was part of the pride.

I told them maybe he was bored with kicking the s*** out of my dogs and needed a change; after the laughter subsides they agree to keep him “for a while”.

This was over 15 years ago.

I am not a cat person, but I extend my sympathies.

Lost our dog Lucy back in 2007, and I still have moments of grief.

Hope wonderful memories will comfort you in the weeks and months ahead. Time will help, I promise.

Prayers up.

It is hard...very hard.

Wee lost our kitty...just 7 years old...over Memorial Day. It’s a long sad story but I’ll try to keep it short.

When we moved from our house to an apartment we found out too late they didn’t allow pets. In the dead of night we smuggled her in and for three years kept her from prying eyes.

She was incredibly happy her. She could watch birds, had basically full run, lots of toys and thought she ruled us. Well she was a cat.

She’d wake me up at night to go to work an greeted me in the morning.

Then she’d snuggle in bed with me or mrs p6.

We had a bad habit of giving her kitty treats sometimes in the morning or if she had been alone.

We think that contributed to her death.

The vet did a catheter but the Friday before Momorial Day we had to take her to the emergency room. She was so happy on the ride out. It was an incredibly nice day...warm with the bluest skies!

She kept looking around and cuddling with me as I held her.

But there was nothing that could be done. She had stones and even after several thousand dollars of surgery there was no guarantee, she would need twice a week vet visits and she may not walk.

The money was not a problem but the fact that she would never be out of pain....well you know.

Mrs p6 and I still cry.

Keep a warm spot in yout heart, remember the good times.

God bless

Here’s a website that may help a little. You can even enter your pet as a resident of Rainbow Bridge:

http://rainbowsbridge.com/

And the Rainbow Bridge poem which helped me when we had to put our pup down:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown...

Also if you want to post a photo here you need to put it on a hosting site such as photobucket.com or flickr.com If you’d like, FReepmail me a photo and I’ll post it for you here.

My sympathies on the loss of your furbaby.

Shortly after we lost cat of 15 years we adopted a she kitten who had been found and was being cared for by our vet. It did a lot to help ease the pain of our loss and gave an abandoned cat a new home.
