Comedy Channel Roast of Roseanne no-hold barred except the F-word

The Huffington Post says, "Watching the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne? Why not watch it with us?"

"Entertainment Weekly‎" and "US Magazine" promotes it, too.

Hey, if Huffungton and Hollywood says it is okay, isn't it?

After all, families with small children, they do bleep out the F-word--

Gadzooks! They don't censor descriptions of the most vile disgusting sex acts but they bleep the F-word?

Not to be out done, they managed to show the true blue Liberal Democrat spirit right off the bat with Jane Lynch saying "F-bleep- Chick-fil-A!"

Then following in quick succession were jokes about Mitt Romney's wife, Sarah Palin's son, Trig, 9-11 and Black jokes that would get any Republican teller shot dead in the street.

But we Right Wings cannot complain as you know the Mainstream Media will retort... "Get over it-- it is only comedy!"

Okay, okay, give me hell for watching it. But in my defense... I have been drinking--

I wouldn’t watch her long enough to see a dog pi$$ on her leg. . . .

Let’s not forget Roseanne Barr tweeted two weeks ago that Chick-Fil-A customers deserve to get cancer and die. Disgusting b!tch. Typical Hollyweird scum.

These new “roasts” are nothing like they were when Martin did them. They have become too political and too sleazy.

With liberals comes cultural rot. This needs to be said over and over.

In no wise do I write this as a criticism. I might be a little tempted to watch if they were inclined to roast her in actuality; but failing that, no.

I was amused by your use of 'Gadzooks' to declaim the use of the 'F' word. We regard Gadzooks!and Zounds! to be humourous and meaningless oaths from an earlier day.

In the same vein that 'shucks' and 'darn' are employed today to disarm an offensive meaning, Gadzooks and Zounds masked the more potent oaths of "G-d's Hooks" and "G-d's Wounds". The first refers to swearing by the hooks or spikes which impaled the body of the crucified Christ. The second to the wounds inflicted on Jesus the Christ by the soldiers as they tormented him. As you can imagine, these were terrible and coarse utterances, at a time when their use could exact a terrible and coarse penalty. By reducing these oaths to an approximation of their original form; users could impart their meaning while only raising eyebrows, rather than invoking the full fury of the church and the disfiguring (or fatal) penalties for blasphemy.

I find such things interesting. No foul to you if you do not. We now resume our originally scheduled programming, already in progress.

Well, at least the large majority of Green Party members voted for Dr. Jill Stein in the primary. Barr brought “celebrity” to that election, but Dr. Stein, is actually a medical doctor graduate of Harvard University. She has some interesting views on medical topics, but typical liberal views on others.

Re: I was amused by your use of 'Gadzooks'-- [snip] rather than invoking the full fury of the church and the disfiguring (or fatal) penalties for blasphemy.

I am reminded of that old story about... Bess Truman getting cornered at some party, and a refined old District lady said, "Mrs. Truman, isn't there anything you can do to get the President to stop using the word 'manure'?"

Bess is supposed to have replied, "It took me forty years to get Harry to use that word!"

Just be glad I started using "Gadzooks!" instead of what... I used about 30 to 40 years ago--
