Chad Johnson is, and always has been, a selfish clown. In Cincinnati it was widely known that he could care less about the play book unless the play called involved him getting the pass. He was notorious for not knowing and running the routes in the play. He was exposed in New England where Belicheck demands players focus, know the playbook and execture their assignments with discipline and precision. Chad was too lazy and stupid to make such a commitment. You can ALWAYS tell when Chad was going to not get the ball thrown his way. His body language at the line of scrimmage was a dead giveaway.

I don’t watch a lot of football, but I am betting that this man’s receiving skills are failing.

They are not failing they are non-existant. He hasn't just lost a step, he has lost 4 or 5 steps, so he has no ability to seperate from DB's.

He has been at the bottom of their depth chart all camp already and they only threw to him once during their first game -- he was wide open, and promptly dropped an soft pass right in his chest.

His arrest just gave them a reason to release him without saying he is washed up.

Football teams don’t care about drug abuse, dog fighting, wife beating or anything else as long as the guy is an asset to win games.

If Johnson was in the prime of his career Miami might have kept him. But a wide receiver in the last couple years of his career who might not have made the cut? Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you!

The Patriots won’t get rid of somebody who they think can still be productive.

Correct. Who IS on first, what's on second. I don't know is on third.

Oh, well, as Ira Gershwin so famously said, "Let's call the whole thing off!"

PLAY BALL!
