Open Note to Rush Limbaugh re Penn State
Fertile mind ^ | 8/14/12 | Self

Rush, I just heard you saying that you thought punishing the university itself is going too far at Penn State.

Yes, it appears that one evil man brought the whole thing down, but remember that to cover up evil is to promote it.

Everyone up in the highest administration must have known about Sandusky. No one alerted law enforcement. They "let him retire early.". No other football teams seemed to hire him, which if people knew nothing would defy logic. Everyone knew. The heads of the university knew.

They allowed him full access to their property and facilities. They did not alert the authorities to a known pedophile who was running a charity giving him access to the most defenseless children.

The heads of the university allowed these rapes to continue, so, sadly, to prevent anything like this happening again, the whole university is being brought down. By those who stayed silent rather than doing the right thing.

Of all people, I'd have thought you would understand the selfless bravery that discovering evil should have inspired and indeed is required, in the heads of a great educational institution.

Rush has some bizarre love of things Pennsylvania.

He’s a Steelers fan and the guy that owns the team and the coach are HUGE Obama backers.

The only people this punishes are the students who had nothing to do with Sandusky’s crimes. If there are people who covered things up, let them be punished but this collective punishment of the innocent is the same philosophy that Obama uses in trying to “punish the rich”.

Heads of institutions need to root out the evil within and take their lumps. When Sandusky was first discovered sodomizing children on campus, the college was innocent. Calling the cops and the resulting scandal still as the university as secondary victim.

Having covered up for sandusky’s crimes for years, and thus aiding him to rape many more children, the university itself is as filthy as if they were holding the boys down for Sandusky in the locker room shower.

Rush got his facts wrong. This was not a football program issue. Freeh was paid $6m by the Board of Trustees to put all the blame on Paterno and the football program. They quickly accepted his conclusions (that Paterno was the mastermind in sweeping it all under the rug), despite the fact there was ZERO evidence in the report to support Freeh’s conclusions. The board quickly accepted sanctions on the football program without a whimper, even though no NCAA rules were violated by the football program.

The cover-up is still going on. There is a protection of very infleuntial/wealthy people going on right now. They don’t want a real investigation to see what took place. They want it over now. A few of the newer BOT members are fighting the old guard, but it’s looking like a losing battle as they are outnumbered by left-wing pigs.

Agree.
Nothing in the former FBI director’s report suggests “everyone” in the administration knew about this. Penn State should tell the accreditation agency to take a hike.

The students and athletes and everyone who didn’t know are the new victims...

Of the heads of the university who propagated child molestation.

It’s very very sad.

If you wish to do a stupid thing, like driving home drunk, very often your “little evil” ends up killing total innocents.

I agree with Rush 100 percent. What a stupid witch hunt. You got the guy who did it now let the school go on with life. Penn State thank God is bigger than the haters. This is so against what conservativism is about....Personal Responsibility....not punishment for the masses like the liberals do.

Does anybody understand the accreditation process? I would imagine that colleges & universities are periodically audited to determine if their programs are currently meeting the standards set forth. Is it possible that PSU was simply “under review” at this time (when the Sandusky trial concluded)?

It doesn’t have to be “everyone.”. If one higher up knew the assistant football coach was molesting boys, everyone lose should have known, and probably did. That’s a tough piece of gossip to choke down.

If the head of the university allowed a French professor to continue to rape boys on campus, the school needs to feel pain.

Those of you standing with rush are saying you wish the cover up had been better. Glad those boys were not your sons.

Freeh’s report was complete and total bunk, paid for by the Board of Trustees. They got exactly what they wanted. “They protected Jerry to save the football program’s image”. Nonsense. There was zero evidence linking Paterno to the coverup. There was nothing from anyone involved saying “we gotta keep this under wraps or it’ll hurt recruiting”. No evidence even remotely touching on any of that. But those were Freeh’s conclusions and what the media ran with.

It stinks to high heaven. They administrators weren’t protecting the football program, they were protecting somebody else very high in power (either financial or political power, or both.)

Sad to say, but the GOP governor Tom Corbett is looking very dirty in all of this.

Everyone who knew and did nothing deserves pain.

This is one of the worst things someone can do on this planet.

What if, after the theater shooting, all the eyewitnesses said, “I dint see nuthing, officer.”?

The university is not guilty. Persons employed at the university are guilty. Only those guilty should be punished.

That is the biggest BS ever told. No if the French Professor is bonking kids than put him in jail and if the University President is covering up than give him a trial and go to jail. As for the school....keep going....I never saw so many conservatives turn into liberals in my life relating to this story. It is stunning how many liberals there are. No personal responsibility just punish the masses....never saw anything like this in my life.

"The cover-up is still going on."

The US Postal Service has initiated an investigation of Sandusky for child porn. Assuming there's fire under that smoke, unless he was mailing the stuff to himself, there were other people involved.

I agree. And those football players deserve to have their full status restored and get to winning games.

How many Penna governors were in on the deal. This was a long term problem, right?
