The media’s strangely subdued reporting on Family Research Council shooter

I was camping yesterday morning when a friend alerted me via Twitter there had been a shooting at Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Frightened for my friends, I began checking Google for news reports. Ten minutes later the first story popped up, stating an FRC security guard had been shot in the arm, and the shooter had been arrested.

A bit relieved, I went ahead with a planned day trip, tuning in to news radio in the truck to keep up with the latest. Nada.

I switched to WLS radio, the Chicago ABC affiliate. More nada.

I thought to myself had this been a shooting at a NARAL or GLAAD headquarters, or at a Planned Parenthood, the journalistic world would have stopped. But because FRC is conservative, a shooting wasn’t as big a deal.

As the day went on, the shooter was identified as Floyd Lee Corkins II, pictured above. ABC reported:

Sources say Corkins walked into the Family Research Council and said “It’s not about you, it’s about the policy,” and then shot the guard….

Corkins had been volunteering for about the past six months at The DC Center for the LGBT Community, said David Mariner, executive director of the community center, which is in Northwest Washington. He usually staffed the center’s front desk on Saturdays, and his most recent shift was about two weeks ago….

The Family Research Council advocates conservative positions on social issues and strongly opposes gay marriage and abortion.

Perkins was an outspoken defender of Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s public stand against same-sex marriage, which made the fast-food chain a flashpoint in the nation’s culture wars. The Cathy family foundation has funded FRC….

The suspect allegedly had Chick-fil-A materials inside a bag he carried into the building during the shooting.

I waited for the mainstream media to connect Corkins to the homosexual activist community.

After all, to this day liberals link Scott Roeder, who killed late-term abortionist George Tiller in 2009, to Operation Rescue because “authorities found a Post-It note with Operation Rescue’s phone number in Roeder’s car,” quoting MSNBC as recently as August 13.

And Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards labeled Tiller’s murder as only one of “violent attacks by anti-choice extremists,” quoting from CNN.

And within hours of the Auroro, Colorado, theater shooting last month, ABC falsely linked the killer to the Tea Party.

So if Corkins actually worked at a homosexual organization, and it was during the time when that organization was actively promoting the defamation of Chick-Fil-A, and if on Facebook Corkin listed only two friends, one being David Mariner, executive director of The DC Center (who Mariner quickly defriended), well wow, surely MSM would promote Corkin as a poster child for homosexual violence, right?

And MSM would be investigating deeper connections. Were Corkin and his only male Facebook friend Mariner lovers? Why did Corkin stop working at The DC Center? Did officials at The DC Center notice abnormal behavior, or did he threaten violence against FRC and/or conservatives The DC Center didn’t report to authorities?

No, of course not. Negative profiling by liberals and the media only goes one way.

And will Obama’s FBI charge Corkin with domestic terrorism, or with committing a federal hate crime?

Will Obama and liberals now call on their own, such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, which currently lists FRC as a “hate group,” to temper their inflammatory language against conservative groups?

Beyond the politics, I’m so thankful for the bravery of FRC guard Leo Johnson, who is being called a hero for thwarting a unimaginable tragedy. And I’m thankful to read he is in stable condition.

For the Record..since this article was published I checked and Floyd Corkins II is down to just one FB friend.

Talk about having the shape of an "L" on the forehead.

Fox should be jumping all over this one. This is a clear case where the perp was brainwashed by ‘haters’.

If I ever work for the Family Research Council, I’m going to carry Skittles and Iced Tea with me at all times. If the guard had been carrying those, the media would be all over this shooting.

Leftists define “hate groups” to be groups that they hate.

Already I have seen a lot of gay advocacy groups lashing out at NOM and Tony Perkins for daring to “politicize” the shooting. What a joke...

The thought comes to me that the media (liberal mainstream) is not making a “big deal” about reporting this event, and not stressing the connection between the shooter and his LGBT activities because they agree with his politics, agree that the Family Research Council is a hate group, and that the shooting was morally justified in their minds.

Guilty about whipping their side into a frenzy?

Daily KOS references this blog as the source of the Family research council’s lobbying against H.RES.1064 in 2010. Proof that FRC was a hate group in the mind of KOZ.

CHRISTIAN LOVE: Family Research Council Lobbied Congress Against Resolution Denouncing Uganda’s Kill Gays Bill
According to the FRC’s official lobbying report for the first quarter of 2010, they paid two of their henchmen $25,000 to lobby Congress against approving a resolution denouncing Uganda’s plan to execute homosexuals. Below are three screencaps of the 20-page Family Research Council lobbying report supplied to me by Duncan Osbourne at Gay City News.

The media’s lack of reporting the facts about this shooting, points out very clearly and definitively that they are an agenda pursuing organization. The media lies and distorts in the service of libtards and communists.

“I was camping yesterday morning when a friend alerted me via Twitter.....”

If you can be alerted by Twitter, then you are not really camping. Hell, if you even have cell phone signal at all..........you are not really camping.

Exactly. And, the heads of the MSM need to be sued for discrimination. A couple of multi million or billion law suits will get their attention. Unfortunately, conservatives don’t roll that way.

The Lame Stream Media is trying to make the case that Chick Fil a CEO Dan Cathy whipped up the controversy which caused Corkins to come uncorked. This of course shows the depths they will go to further their agenda.

The suspect allegedly had Chick-fil-A materials

According to an ABC radio news blurb a few minuts ago he had 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. His mother was quoted as saying he had "strong feelings about those who are unfair to gays and lesbians."

In other words he's a lefty gay activist who hates Christians and was probably inspired to violence by the recent leftist rage against Chick-fil-A.

If he did not like people/places that were “unfair” to gays then why did he buy 15 chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A?

How much do those cost? Say about $4.50 a piece? so times 15 = $67.5

He spent $67.5 at Chick-fil-a just to go on a shooting spree to protest them?

IT JUST DON’T ADD UP!!

Hey, MSM, here’s a brainwave to check out: these mass killings weren’t done by deranged Republicans, conservatives, or TEA Party members. The murders (and attempted murders) were done by deranged leftist whackos and Democrats just like you. How’s it feel to be in such infamous company — deranged murderers? Must be very embarrassing (and not newsworthy) because you BURY the story once anyone gets an ID on the shooter.

He was likely trying to use the food as an excuse to enter the building - and then as bait so that (in his wacko LGBT gaystapo mind) he would know who to shoot.

Good Lord, yes.

Yet if somebody with a rosary hanging from their rearview drove past a Planned Parenthood office, it would be front page news for days. "HARASSMENT!" "THE RIGHT IS UNHINGED" "CHOICE IS UNDER FIRE!"
