Phyllis Diller - Dead at 95

Comedian Phyllis Diller -- who paved the way for today's female comics -- has died, TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Diller tell us the comedian died at her L.A. home, surrounded by family. She was 95.

We're told Diller had recently fallen, hurting her wrist and hip, and her health had been on the decline ever since. She had been living in hospice care at her home.

Diller suffered a heart attack in 1999 and was later fitted with a pacemaker.

That was about 25 yrs ago so she must’ve been around 70. She sure didn’t seem that old.

Thank you. The old boy was 14 years and 8 months old, and his spirit never wavered. Died in my arms.

I have had that experience with my hounds.
Few things are more wonderful then a dog, yes they are animals but they are more then that much more. I think dogs have spacial relationship with humans and have had since the dawn of time. Particularly the relationship with their masters & mistresses.

I am going to go upstairs now and flip my four-legged goofballs a biscuit. Why? just because and to honor your "old boy" and your relationship!

He was such a good mellow dog, that I think if I ever get another, I’ll look for the same mix: yellow lab + white shepherd. A man met on a walk who assured me confidently that was indeed the mix, looked on him jealously (he once had one himself.) In the last year he lost some of his hearing and learned to respond to hand gestures.

I remember seeing Phyllis Diller guest on an old replay of Groucho Marx’ “You Get Your Life” from the early 1950s. She was a quiet, demure starlet at the time.
