I also feel that he is intelligent.

If he thinks he can stay and tough this out, and in the process costs us a lot more than his one seat, you'll want to review that assessment. :^)

And we see the natural results of the Democrats coddling their idiots ‘circling the wagons’ closing ranks and ignoring the outpouring of absolute idiocy - Vice President “slow” Joe Biden.

It is a GOOD THING that we hold our candidates for public office to a higher standard - it is a necessity because the media is on their side - but it is ALSO a good thing.

Those crying “why can't we keep OUR ‘Bidens’ in office” are idiots.

Do you live in Missouri? I do, and I will IF Akin stays on the ballot vote for him. Point is Claire, the nursing home queen does NOT represent me, or this state. She is like a hog with a super evolved sense of smell. AND unfortunately she knows the psychology of human nature much better than Akin.

This state is in a world of ‘hurt’ from a state wide drought. People in large part are fickle and true or not sense ‘ridicule’ when they hear it or see it. AND Akin will need more than just conservative voters to send Claire back to handing out big pharma pills instead of surgical procedures to the residents of her nursing home empire.

Personally, while I do NOT understand the choice of words Akin decided to use, he had not won that pulpit yet. A woman's right to choose’ is the standard that unites all liberals even some calling themselves Christians.

You are right; there will be more conservative victims who misspeak on occasion but none Democrat. Apparently the American people and the Republican establishment doesn’t see the dichotomy.

Spot on Eric. No need to mince words. What is at issue here is a life...period. Democrats want to inflict the death penalty for the sins of a parent.

Akin is a complete moron and you think in your little mind that he is some kind of victim then you are clearly deluded.

I, for one, hope that personal attacks against other FReepers would cease. (See rules below the reply box for "the rules"

Copy: JR in hopes that he might use his bully pulpit to encourage observance of "the rules."

We must be in agreement that the American people are slow to grasp truth. To me though, Akin’s missstatement without needed clarification, does “not rise to the level” of forcing him from the race. Now with name ID, he won’t need all those “feel good” GOP establishment ads. When Scott Brown and All Coulter called for him to leave the race, I knew Akin should stay. But I think he will bow out today any way. It’s too much pressure for most to withstand, and the American people can’t understand.

Yeah. They are very slow to grasp the truth. Partly because they have been dumbed down and partly because RINOs and Dems both twist the truth so much, I’ts hard to sift through everything.

I have NOT nor am I calling for Akin to leave the race. I will vote for him IF he stays.

Truth is that Akin apparently forgot that he needs those 'independents' voting in majority for him to beat Claire. Which should be his first priority, beat Claire. Running off the mouth offending those fickle independents is NOT going to make him a winner. He needs to 'win' to have opportunity to gore liberals sacred cow...'women's right to choose'.

I live in Missouri .... and I am NOT going to spend my time attempting to explain to liberals and those mushy independents what 'legitimate rape' actually means.

Don’t mind us ‘’knuckle’draggers’’. geeesh.

Is it OK to knock Norm Coleman? He did screw us out of an energy policy in 2005.. I know that’s an old item.. but just think what could have been? anwr would be producing oil..

and now, If Akin loses and the Senate stays as a deadlocked body ,, boy , we sure have come along way under the current GoP leadership, huh?

You don't engage the PeePee & Cooter Party on their own turf. Gads, when are the StuPublicans going to learn that?

It's been nearly FIFTEEN FREAKING YEARS, and they STILL haven't gotten it yet.
