Parents and students facing sky-high sate-run college tuitions aren't likely to be thinking about ObamaCare. But perhaps they should, since if left in place ObamaCare will likely end up making college still more expensive. Why? Because ObamaCare relies heavily on Medicaid the federal/state program that provides health insurance for the poor to expand coverage. But Medicaid is already swallowing up state budgets, forcing states to cut back on everything else, especially support for two- and four-year public colleges.

I thought this was going to be about the cost of providing benefits to an expansive staff and administration for a typical university. As the article says, reduced state subsidy has already impacted tuition greatly.
We have to decide if we are a nation that is dedicated to providing it’s citizens freedom and liberty, or if we are dedicated to providing welfare and pensions and medicare.
We know the former works to create wealth and opportunity, we know that latter destroys wealth and opportunity.
But too many (including so-called conservatives and tea-party members) really want to keep medicare (unsustainable) and avoid obamacare (more unsustainable).
The real answer is freedom and liberty - an immediate end to all extra-constitutional programs, but the “gimme-gimme-gimme free-stuff brigade” of “me first” Americans and chronologically-gifted Americans will not stand for not getting their benefits.
I never thought I’d support the party of “Vote for me, the other guys want to cut your medicare” because it used to mean you were a liberal democrat. That is the GOP now....
This article is right for the wrong reason. The reason Obamacare will drive up the cost of college tuition is because it took over the student loan system in this country. Look for increased subsidies for the”needy” and higher costs for the wealthy/lucky.
The more education a person has, the bigger their carbon footprint.
In order for the global elite to live in the Walden paradise they deserve, the peasants must be made as ignorant as possible.

Yep. Two leftwing, globalist, big government, small liberty parties. There really is a vacuum for conservative representation out there. The Geriatric Old Plotters are false, and the ‘third party’ alternatives are jokes.
Most American universities are breeding grounds for leftist ignorance. Making them prohibitively expensive is not in the Left's best interests.

Uhuh. Meanwhile in Reality Land.

What's the carbon footprint of tribe of gang bangers in a Cadirac Escipade?
A more general rule for understanding this dynamic can be promulgated. See tagline.
“There really is a vacuum for conservative representation out there.”
This is why the founding fathers limited government. They knew tyranny all too well.
We have to go broke and let all government programs fail to send checks before conservatism will come back, I’m afraid.
We’ll need the “If I don’t get my check then what good are you?” conservative converts along with actual thinking conservatives before we can get proper representation.
I fully agree with you. The election carnival and shell game show this cycle convinced me that total collapse will precede any recovery.
No, it will be “free” cause Obama is going to forgive all your student loans provided you make the “right choices” (take a low paying public service career, live in an approved sustainable community, eat a lowfat vegetarian diet with minimal carbon footprint, etc. etc. etc.)
