According to his bio, when he went to work on NCIS, he really got along well with the consultants who were real NCIS, US Marines, and SEALs. Kindred spirits, apparently.
Physically, he is a muscle-man but with active, not show, muscles. So I imagine that he really gave that burglar a good whupping.
