Just came across this interview with an Irish journalist during a stop through Ireland when W. Bush was President and it apparently was never aired in the U.S. according to the person who posted it.
If a journalist did this today to Obama they would be called unprofessional and a racist, however it was perfectly fine to treat a 2-time elected President of the United States who was a Republican this way.

The Leftist talking point was that they didn’t particularly LIKE Saddam’s methods (torture, murder, etc) but that “at least he kept terrorist activity down in Iraq”.
Sort of like how they said “WWII only took a few years (and two nuclear bombs) to finish”.
