Word For The Day, Wednesday, August 29, 2012—false flag (false-flag)

;

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

false flag, noun

False flag (also known as black flag) operations are covert operations designed to deceive in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is: flying the flag of a country other than one’s own. False flag operations are not limited to war and counter-insurgency operations and can be used during peace-time.

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

Most people who come from the Third World have a stronger work ethic and are very goal oriented-like most Americans used to be-and they have every right to brag. But both of these friends are from the same background as mine-nothing notable there, except that one of them married into wealth.

I first encountered the letter thing as a casemanager in the 80’s-it was promoted as a self esteem exercise of sorts-I think it escaped the realm of therapy and evolved into what it is now.

Actually, that neighbor is funny, in a way that just makes you shake your head and say WTF-she is very, very strange.

I think the only way a person can be an “undecided” voter is if they have no TV or computer, or if they are functionally illiterate and can’t read (or speak English). Either way, those people should not be casting a ballot.

Here’s what I do not get: The consultant class of GOP-e says not to attack Obama as it will scare the undecided voters and the undecided voters already know he is a failure anyways. If this was true, then how would they be undecided?

the answer to your question is: because they LIKE HIM PERSONALLY. they are undecided as to whether they will vote based upon his absymal performance, or if they will vote for him as someone they LIKE.

Which just goes to show that the undecided, mushy middle are the problem.

Probably because they are a bunch of wusses who can’t stand a raised voice or anything else that makes them bestir themselves-even a verbal attack in the process makes them scurry to hide in the nearest closet. Or they live in a computer fantasy world, like the aforementioned neighbor.

I guess they want a kinder, gentler election, and adventures make one late for dinner-didn’t Bilbo Baggins say that in LOTR?

I find it interesting that with all the lamenting of lost civility, a little read about political habits up until the 20th century will show that “civility” was not the norm-scandals, arguments in congress employing f-bombs, fisticuffs, outrageous comments on sex lives, calling each other out to duel (Alexander Hamilton, anyone?)-it sounds more like sheleigley (sp) rules in a pub of the time-what political correctness? Maybe we ought to go back to that-politicians might not be so inclined to attack or spread lies if they knew someone was going to kick their ass in public...

Here’s the thing, the libs did a nonstop completely deranged hate campaign on GWB and it worked for them. They were rewarded with the House, the Presidency, and a filibuster proof Senate.

I think these consultant types are just keeping their options open, in case they need to work for a Dem in the future.

If it is all about feeeelings for those people, they are probably spending too much quality time with the bong-I repeat, they should not vote...

“the House, the Presidency, and a filibuster proof Senate”.

And they squandered it all on Obamacare and other bright, shiny objects to please the Roman mob and bankrupt the country. Still no jobs, real estate in the toilet, etc-the 2010 House upset didn’t teach them anything.

Now people are pissed because all they got was rising gas and food prices, high unemployment and no hope and change-I think the only people who will drink that koolaid again are the ones still in Obamaville...

A perfect example of what I mean-talk about getting a beatdown for badmouthing someone’s kin.

If the consequence of spreading blatant lies about a collegue were still to have someone open a can of whoopass on you, I don’t think we’d hear all this whining about racism, starving kids/grandmas/women, not paying taxes, etc-like when a kid howls about something stupid like not getting what they want at a store and the mom hisses in their ear “stop that right now or I’ll give you something to whine about”...
