Thanks! One thing that will help is brighter sights. The paint was old and faded. I carefully removed the old paint, and re-did the sights. I didn’t have any white, but I had a vial of Hi-visibilty yellow, and it actually stands out quite well. Can’t wait to get back the the range for some more practice, but I already know that I am definitely happy I made the buy!

That’s the one I believe both mylife and 50cal have.

I hear they are very reasonable.

Looks good.

I’m very leery of Silver Bear ammo now. I used to buy the Silver Bear hollow points regularly from AIM Surplus. A few months ago at the range I had a squib round and didn’t know it. Everything cycled just fine. I fired the next round which then pushed the squib round out of the barrel. Unfortunately, it ended up bulging the barrel.

Needless to say, that was it for that CZ. I loved it so much though that I went ahead and bought another one.

I fired hundreds of rounds of Silver Bear through my first CZ without any problems. I’m going to error on the side of caution from now on and use different brands (recently bought 5 boxes of PPU at a decent price at AIM and they have a brass case).

Dam!

I hate that for you. Good info though. Thanks for passing it along. I'll bear it in mind when I'm ammo shopping.

Gonna call it a night guys. Take care everyone!

A CZ 82 is a good pistol at $200.

$1200 for a CZ75B is ridiculous. I would pay $450~$500 for the CZ75

Both are fine pistols

Hey Frog thanks for standing in.
I have a bit of a family dilemma that is distracting me, and the football season is also encroaching on the GT thread.

Anytime you want me to post the thread, feel free to give me a heads up an hour or two ahead of time. I’m usually home on Sun. night, but not always.

I hope the family sitch settles down for you soon. :o)

Been lookin fwd to sharing photos of a minor mod to a S&W 610 with ya, but my intrepid bandwidth host has been busy with dilemmas of his own...

Just in case... don't store any firearm in a gun case. A gun case is for use only to get to wherever you're going to go shooting.

When you get home, after you've cleaned it, it goes in your (preferably) gun safe or "other designated place" where humidity won't affect it.

That and a little gun oil did the trick. It is well oiled now. Thank you for your patience.

Good deal! Glad that took care of your 1911. This whole conversation is jogging my memory to get some dessicant packets, and to check some guns that are stored in cases (bad idea) and make sure I haven’t gotten any rust buildup on them.

Take care.

No pitting? Then use apple cider vinegar (or a 5% vinegar) Let it set for a little while and then wipe dry and oil.
