They’re making Olde Frothingslosh again!
my mother loved Rege Cordic! who came after him? was it Jack something? he came up with farkelberry tarts i think?
Jack Bogut.
ok yeah, that’s him. is KDKA still a thing? is the format the same as it was? i know WDVE is still playing the same music it did when i lived there in 1977, PA is in a time warp even my kids notice it.
Whooo! Now that Mom is ensconced in her new apartment with a team of caretakers to meet her every need and every whim, I am in a state of atarxia — for a while, at least.
lordy!
Reading about the hotels assigned journalists, do you suppose it was just CONSERVATIVE journos who were given the back of the hand? I wonder where the NYT or MSNBC were assigned?
KDKA is still a thing. News talk. Mostly reaching older folks, unlike the hip FM newstalk. Once they came on the scene and took Rush away and got jim Quinn they became the big talk station. But KdKA is still there, yes.
My mom is in her retirement community. Just waiting to close on her home. The buyer’s lender is concerned about the location of the septic tank now. We were supposed to close last Friday.
The thought occurs that if Mitt wins the election, maybe the next RNC convention will be in Salt Lake City which has plenty of hotels left over from the Olympics. Although I’ve never stopped in SLC, it looks sparkling from the road. It certainly is in a beautiful setting. We passed through there yesterday, and the scenery is breathtaking. I commented to my husband, “No wonder that the Mormans stopped here!”
Booze laws and lack of hookers guarantee no convention in SLC.
That is hilarious. THat reminds me of my husband when we used to take car trips with 4 kids. The only line he missed was, “Shut up, or I’ll let you yout by the side of the road.”
Really, my husband was not that bad, but we did have to squelch some oarguments in the back seat!
Saying it’s a time warp makes it seem like your “future” is inevitable. It’s a different culture.
Yes, I realize the irony of insisting we’re not in a time warp on a thread where I spoke of playing my Atari
it’s why we always had to get the capt chairs configuration instead of a bench seat for the vans bc no one could be touching anyone else!
