WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 -- The U.S. Justice Management Division has issued a combined synopsis/solicitation notice (DJJ-APG-12-S-0058) for the procurement of 16,000 gallons of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel compatible with 1.250-kilowatt Caterpillar diesel generators. It was posted on Sept. 4 with a response date of Sept. 11.
Where is all the money coming from?
I very much doubt that Cat makes a 1.25 kW gen set.
They are probably talking about a 1,250 kW gen set, which would consume something on the order of 140 gal/hr at full load.
This 16,000 gal purchase would go pretty fast at that rate.
I don’t think this is particularly significant. They probably want to do a post-winterizing test of all their standby generators around the country.
That’s just two trailers+pup loads.
In the world of diesel consumption, that’s chump change.
Still ammo and diesel. Sounds like preppers
By the time Alex Jones gets hold of this, it will be 16 million gallons.
Wow.. A whole 16000 gallons.. That’s like one whole tanker truck, maybe two.
They’re probably restocking the backup tanks at some facility for the year.
Yep, I’m good through Jan 15th though if the price drops again after Hurricane Season or the election, I’ll stock up again.
The Hagerstown, MD almanac just came out with a prediction for heavy snow in the mid-Atlantic states this winter. The first significant snow as early as Thanksgiving. All this predicated on a weak El Nino in the Pacific Ocean area. If a strong El Nino, then cool and rainy winter.
Generators really eat up the fuel. 16,000 gallons isn’t going to take them very far.
Bullets, diesel, guns, training for law enforcement, Tea Party identified as terrorists, economy near collapse, executive orders taking control of the country,
Looks like it’s going to be one hell of an October surprise!
How worried are they about losing?
Maybe this is what they discussed with Iran last week.
(Just ‘cause you’re paranoid doesn’t mean you’re wrong)
Is it true that CAT stopped making diesel engines for trucks? Supposedly because the things the EPA was demanding required bastardizing their engines so much they just said SCREW THIS, and stopped manufacturing them. This was told to me by a rep who sells lubricants to trucking companies, etc.
Hmmmmmm
Lookee over here!
Where is all the money coming from?
Tend to agree w you there Tom
If your caculations are correct, this purchase is propbably in preparation for hurrican season or other disasters.
The Federal Government is preparing siege defense. But why?
An economic collapse with the resulting SHTF chaos?... Maybe.
Could also be a fear of the chaos the will result from a razor close
election that Mitt Romney wins with electoral votes and not
popular votes. Like Bush in 2000.
I think if this happens the Democrats will claim all sorts of election fraud and etc, to hold onto power. Barry Soetoro will refuse to concede and he will call his OWS troops
,and other left wing nuts - (use your imagination), into the
streets. This will give him the excuse to use emergency powers and stay in the White House while fighting the
election result.
Folks need to remember that diesel does not have the shelf life of gasoline and needs to be utilized, not stored. 16K gallons of D-2 is not much at all. Shoot, even 16K metric tons isn’t much.
