The attached chart of Smith & Wesson revenues needs no comment.
Well one comment: when the final bubble does pop (and here we make the wild assumption that no intelligent extraterrestrial life will be found to bail out the central banks in time), at least everyone will be locked and loaded.
And some highlights from the just released investor presentation:
- Record-level quarterly sales growth from continuing ops of $136.0M, +48.3% Y/Y
- Record-level quarterly income from continuing ops of $18.9M, or $0.28 per diluted share
- Record Adjusted Non-GAAP EBITDAS of $36.1 Million
- Raised Full Year Fiscal 2013 Financial Guidance
- Exceeded high end of upwardly revised sales guidance
- Quarterly unit growth +30.1% vs. market growth +23.5% (Adjusted NICS)
- Backlog of $392.4M versus $148.8 one year ago

I've been assisting in the used S&W arena.
Couldn't hurt.

I'm thinking about adding to my 12 this year to check out another manufacturer that I don't have.
I don't own a S&W yet.

When they mention a backlog of $392M, are we really talking about $392 Million in ordered firearms waiting to be built?
Or is that some stock market term with some other meaning?

Looks nice!
I have shot a 9mm Astra in the past and the fit for my hand was just too small and the slide would nick my hand by my thumb. I have gone with .45's and have thousands of rounds of .45 built up.
Is the Shield available in .45? It appeared that 9mm and .40 were the only calibers.
I have a deep love for Colt 1911's and have a few of them and my carry is a New Agent with a Galco holster.
Although I am pleased with the trough sight I have been looking to get a standard sight 3.5" 1911 just for GP.
The Springfield that I have is a SOCOM I and is unbeatable for a long barrel!

"I've been assisting in the used S&W arena." I'm more of a Colt and CZ loyalist myself, but every gunshow I go to, I keep an eye out for a nice S&W M25 or M57. Love to find one blued w/ about a 4-5" barrel. It seems the ones people want to part with are either nickel plated or have ridiculously shortened or long barrels.

i doubt a .45 is in it's future and if you have large hands it's prolly not for you, but it does work in the roll it's intended for
i also have a SOCOM-16 without all the rails and love it!!!
