The unemployment rate for July 2011 was at 9.1% nationwide, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. With an increase in the cost of child care, the country may well see a rise in that statistic. Working parents strain to come up with the money to pay child care costs and, in some cases, find that they would be better off not working at all. When you take into account the costs of gas to commute, business attire and other expenses that come with having a job outside the home, most families are not netting enough to cover the rest of their expenses. For some, the cost of child care combined with these expenditures is more than their total wages.
Actually, you would be better off not having children that you can't afford. It's no accident that you had 3 or more children out of wedlock and don't blame the dead beat dad. You knew he was a loser when you slept with him/them. Your situation was. no. accident. and you are both UNFIT TO BE PARENTS. It's not our responsibility to pay for your childcare or your day care or to subsidize your poor choices or to perpetuate this cycle of dependency that you are passing on to your offspring.
Young families are sinking in this country, and with them, the future of the country is sinking.

Going back to how things were before rainbow feminazis destroyed the family, when dad brought home the bacon and mom cared for the kids — isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
I’m a stay at home father (by choice) with two wonderful little girls in elementary school. If i were to find a job and leave my children’s after school care to a person that’s unlicensed, I might be able to get them in for a about a thousand a month. If I go to a licensed place, figure 2k per.. which is considerably more than I would be making if I was working in Obama’s recovery. I figure my monthly expenses for a job in my profession would be about $600 commuting, $2,000 childcare and another $300 monthly for expenses. So easily $3k(+-) per just to walk out the door not to mention a wardrobe overhaul of about $4,000. I would have to bring home $36k/yr which equals a salary of close to $60K/yr when you take taxes into account.
We will just have to wait until we have real economic leadership so I can get back out there and produce again.
I run Camp Grandpa during the summer with golf, fishing, swimming, arcades, bicycling, cooking and running errands.
During the school year, I run Grandpa's Infirmary as well as taxi service.
My daughter and SIL both thank me repeatedly, as my doing this allows them to both work and provide private school for my grandsons.
My wife and I shared those same duties when our kids were growing up, as we ran our own business and could cover for each other. Silly us, we should have noticed the roads and bridges nearby and realized we really did not need to work such long hours to make ends meet.
Oh, well. Gonna miss those little dudes when they get too grown-up to be with me.
Like lawn work, snow shoveling, housekeeping....the government just had to stick their nose into babysitting...and get a piece of the action and set up their own little babysitting service....called Head-Start....meals included.
High rates of unemployment result in lower average incomes in the aggregate, and actual lower incomes for those who can find a job.
Biology doesn't care one way or the other for economics ~ just find a hole to burrow into, some roots to eat, and those babies show up anyway.
Family formation, in the long term, is very important to the future of our nation. Current government policy discourages family formation
I got a peek behind the curtain at my youngest daughter’s pre-school compliance. They had to pay a person 20hrs a week as a compliance manager to keep up with all the rules and regs for federal, state, county.
It seems that whenever someone has more than three neighborhood kids over their house and one does something stupid, they lawmakers try to solve it. Now my neighbors can’t watch our kids for free because they don’t have a license.
Only among those who are willing to produce and work.
It may sound "raisis" (can you hear the dog whistle) but if you part of the welfare culture, current government policy encourages reproduction. The circumstances may not be luxurious, but food, lodging, medicine, and to some degree childcare are heavily subsidized.
The working stiff can't even deduct necessities from his income on his tax returns.

Pretty stupid seeing as parents we don't need licenses to raise our own kids. I can see being licensed if you have a facility or are watching a bunch of children.
My daughter has 2 little girls. She is college educated and was married when both girls were conceived. Her Military husband kicked all of them out and moved in some slut he met on facebook.
My daughter can barely make the bills. She had to find a job (after being a stay-at-home mother) in the worst economy I can remember. What she found was good and related to her degree but she had to work shifts and call-ins. She can’t do that and leave a 3 and 5 year old at home alone. We live 5 hours away and cannot watch the girls while she works. SHe found another job...straight days...but between childcare and gas costs, she was paying more then she was earning.
Now, she sells cosmetics on her own schedule.
Maybe you should have a clue before you paint all parents with such a broad brush....
Yeah, right? Imagine NOT dropping off your kid into some smelly, dirty, germ infested center with a minimum waged warm body and 30 other kids walking around aimlessly for 10 hours a day.
That’s a really crappy story. I hope your daughter comes through it stronger and better for it.

No-Fault divorce is also a factor here, it was better when divorces were difficult to get. Marriages fail because when it’s easy to get divorced, people get married thinking it’s just the next phase of the relationship, and they can back out just as easily as when they first started dating. It used to be when you found out somebody was a divorcee, it was like wearing a scarlet “D”. Nowadays, there’s no shame in it.
If her hubby is still on active duty she would have been getting up to 60% of his check.

I wish. This “divorce” has been ongoing for 2.5 years, and so far has cost us $31,000.
They live in New York state. Do I need to say more....
