NY Times reporter: Bush White House didn't listen to 9/11 warnings
CBS THIS MORNING ^ | 9-11-2012

Posted on 09/11/2012 6:47:36 AM PDT by ExxonPatrolUs

"CBS This Morning" co-host Norah O'Donnell said, "Then when a lot of people hear this, aren't they going to say, 'This is another example of where, not just the Bush administration, but our intelligence community dropped the ball. They failed to heed the warnings that were in a number of these (documents) that went all the way up to the president of the United States.'"

Eichenwald replied, "Actually, the counterterrorist center of the CIA did a spectacular job, and that's what really comes down. You know, in the aftermath, the White House and others said, 'Well they didn't tell us enough.' No, they told them everything they needed to know to go on a full alert and the White House didn't do it."

Nevertheless, I’ll never forget Condoleeza Rice sitting up there at the commission saying “We never DREAMED someone would be low enough to hijack an airliner and fly it into a skyscraper.” I thought that sounded very, very weak.

I remember Gorelick but I don't know how she was able to create that wall and more importantly, WHY she did it.

Anyone?

Hmmmmmm....I don’t recall the NYT blaming Clinton’s intelligence gathering for the Murrah Federal Building or the USS Cole bombing.

This is the one issue I will not let anybody get away with....BUSH’s courage and leadership brought this nation through its darkest hour....today is certainly not the day to attack him. In fact, we should be thanking him. After all, he INHERITED 911 from Clinton ;)

“Sandy Pants Berger”

I would love to have Saggy Pants Berger water boarded to find out what the hell he stole.

Why do we continue to accept our government hiding these acts from us?

Every time we let them get away with it, they just have more nerve to do it again and again.

The American people no longer have control over fedzilla when both parties play this game and we have a willing media to give them cover.

Come on, now. Don't you know the dumbest man EVER to inhabit the White House masterminded the whole incident in a mere 8 months after stealing the Presidency from the rightful heir, Al Gore?

Yes, that was what Sandy Burger was doing.

As usual, unfortunately, Bush never wanted to reveal any of the misdeeds of his predecessor, so Burger got a slap on the wrist and the whole thing went away quietly.

Another piece of news from two credible sources, NYT and CBS. Fish wrap and the propaganda station. Didn’t know they were still around.

It was the Sudan.

They even offered to arrest him and hand him to us on a silver platter. The Clinton DOJ couldn't figure out how to prosecute him so they said no. Also Clinton did place much priority on it. Not the type of foreign affair that held his interest.

The key thing to remember regarding Rats and GOP views concerning terrorism The Rats view it strictly as a law enforcement problem. Has to be prosecutable so intelligence community information is mostly inadmissible. Also remember in law enforcement you arrest and prosecute after the crime. So the crime has to be committed you have to absorb the attack and accept the damage and casualties first. (Tough noogies if its your friends and family!) GOP’ers tend to view it as a military and intelligence problem, you have a lot more latitude in your actions if you keep it in that realm. Meaning you have the option of hitting first rather then being hit. And using intel assets you might be able to hit first subtly, silently and surgically. (And hitting back in this way doesn't always mean killing people and breaking things!)

In my opinion if you are at the stage where you have to use violence to recover the initiative, you have already let it get too far out of the box. (I know sometimes its already out of the box before you know about it!) As the old Heinlein quote goes, "Violence is the last resort of the incompetent!"

[Clinton] ... did nothing in 1993 when the W.T.C. was first attacked.
He also did nothing when the Khobar Towers (housing AF personnel) was blown up in 1996.
He also did nothing when the USS Cole was blown up in 2000.
He also did nothing for all the years 9/11 was being planned right under his nose.
Notice a trend?

“Jammie Gorelick, from the Clinton administration, created an arbitrary barrier between the Intelligence and Law Enforcement arms of the FBI.

THAT is the single mechanism that caused us to miss the warning signs.

Too many folks believe it was a gap between the CIA and FBI.”

Yet she did create a barrier between the FBI and CIA sharing information. You are probably right about what was the most likely cause of 9/11.

And Bush ignoring warnings about 9/11 is a crock of BS. Yeah they had warning but none were specific enough to act on. Jamie Gorelicks treasonous policy was one of the reasons the Bush administration didn’t have anything specific to act on.

More utterly shameless Democrat propaganda from the New York Times. Can’t really expect anything else from an organization that has repeatedly betrayed national security for the sake of political posturing.

This from the same “paper of record” that is fine removing the first years budget from Obama’s record....and celebrating the executive order giving amnesty to all current Illegal Aliens that are between 16 and 30 while still in school or some form of vocational training...

Yep, that executive order would embrace all of the 911 hijackers.

“THAT is the single mechanism that caused us to miss the warning signs.”

No one missed any warning signs. We had about 10 of them, including a first run at bringing down the WTC towers and the Cole.

Our government simply ignored all of them....

What a load. There is a reason ABCs Path to 9-11 will never be shown again nor make it to DVD.

This was a massive intelligence failure by a president who was too busy with interns and cigars to care.

The non-Mulim western mind does not compute suicidal jihad; it is too foreign to our way of thinking. Now we have been introduced to the concept and will be aware of it, but back then, who knew?
